Does NYG really believe in Chad Wheeler at RT? Is Mike Remmers a guy you want to trust protecting an immobile QB and help lead the charge for a run-dominant attack?

Keep in mind as draft begins. GM Dave Gettleman told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio earlier today: "There are quarterbacks that we like; and at the right spot ... we think we'll take one." #Giants #NFLDraft
Sorry can't agree. Limited athleticism, length and power. Has the lowest ceiling of the Top 4 OT's imo. Most polished right now but not a Top 6 prospect.

He really looks good in that suit. I'm not sure I'd wear that to a draft only because it might make the GMs think he's making a statement (it's about me). Not so much about the team. I know it's a fetch and I may be over analyzing but I wouldn't risk it.
I get that & he does a great job there. But I hate what he's done to the league & the style of the game.
Well I agree with the style of the game. I am old school and when I played I could knock your fucking head off and then point at your team mate telling him that he is next.
Some of that has a lot to do with the owners trying to protect the investment in their QBs and also the player's union.
I dont like the guy so please dont misunderstand me. I am just trying to look at it objectively. I think he had the most difficult time dealing with the Colin K situation and the veterans. The country is divided and in a way society was essentially forcing Goodell to make decisions that were going to upset a large portion of the fan base either way
All that said, the guy has been absolutely horrible when it comes to the consistency of how the NFL punished or fined players for various rules violations. He also could have dealt with the rules and officials much better than he has.

The three teams that have spoken to the Cardinals this off-season about Josh Rosen are the Giants, Dolphins and Chargers. But Rosen has been a backup plan at best for all three. Arizona has no issues keeping Rosen; it is prepared to keep him if it doesnt get a suitable offer.

the cardinals are full of shit; they need to off Rosen for whatever they can get.
complaining about the NFL making teams wait for a pick is really, really strange.
It happens every single year. The NFL is a business. Companies pay a ton of money for commercial time.
Every year, people somehow think it's all of a sudden going to change. It's not. And it's not ridiculous for a business to operate like a business. The companies that pay big money for commercials matter a hell of a lot more than what some fans want. And rightfully so.

Jets are on the clock. Important pick for the Giants. If Jets trade back, it'll likely be to a team looking to move up for a QB. If the Jets stay, they likely take a defensive stud off the board. So depends on if you're rooting for a QB or defensive player at 6...
it gets interesting. Can the Jets trade down? If they don't, I assume they'll take Q. Williams. We need another QB to go in the top five to have a realistic chance at Allen.

a home run draft is a little much when they didn't address any of the holes at premium positions.
I wanted to throw up listening to DG talk about how it's all about value. In free agency and the draft.
Can't talk about it always being about value and then take a RB #2 and then pay just a pretty good player elite money at left tackle. I forget where I heard the interview the other day but he did exactly what he said you cant do signing guys like Solder and the other contracts he gave out in free agency.
No one can argue that the draft wasn't good last year, Barkley is terrific and Hernandez is as well, but without a pass rush and without a QB Barkley is going to be stuck on a bad team no matter if he runs for 3000 yards.
I think Giants are going to suck in 2019 no matter what happens tonight even if he hits a home run this draft 2019 I dont see a real path to being any better than like 7-9, and 7-9 would take a miracle imo.
This roster is putrid. It's not DG's fault but if he takes a QB tonight and misses it will be the beginning of the end of his tenure as Giants GM.
Hopefully Shurmur doesn't have much say whatsoever. Same with Mara. Shurmur is a loser and barring a miracle won't be here in 2020.

But I dont see it. The number 6 pick should be more of a guarantee for success than a iffy QB with questionable decision skills. With the Giants defensive issues it feels like a huge mistake. Hope Im proven wrong...
Do well? In the few clips they showed it doesnt look like he has a strong arm or is that fast?
Hes got a good enough and is very underrated with his athleticism. Not happy about the pick at allbut theres something there. Would have ok with the pick at 17
I dont watch too much college football so I have no knowledge of how good Allen is. But Mayock and Gruden are no dummies and they took Ferrell over Allen. I dont know much about Jones but maybe Allen is overrated here

Best pre snap read in the draft
Good pocket mobility
Surprisingly athletic
Mentally and physically tough
Good short game
(Fits Schurmurs scheme)
Cons:
Average arm
Doesnt really drive the ball downfield
Inconsistent in reading progressions
Known to force the ball into tight windows
Probably not Jones, based off of what theyre saying. DG took him there because there were others interested in Jones. I just hope he proves folks wrong and becomes a very good Franchise QB.
But I dont see it. The number 6 pick should be more of a guarantee for success than a iffy QB with questionable decision skills. With the Giants defensive issues it feels like a huge mistake. Hope Im proven wrong...
There is no guarantee for success, ever. Time will tell if Danny Jones was the right pick here. Personally, I really liked him, but like most here, thought we could've picked him at 17...especially the way this draft started out.
in NY and while 2004 was really cool to be there with all of the drama going in, it's pretty boring and much better to watch at home.
That being said the Nashville set up looks awesome. That seems like it would be fun to attend the way they have it set up. Dallas looked awful last year. Philly was outside like Nashville by the art museum but not anywhere near as cool as the Nashville setup. I wonder if they will try New Orleans next on bourbon Street. Streets down there may not be wide enough to pull off something like they have in Nashville.
If they have it in Nashville again I may try to go. Nashville is an awesome city to begin with and that atmosphere just looks awesome tonight
take a QB at 17 and DL at 6. You knew the DL was deep and there would be talent available. If they thought Jones was their guy they were right to pull the trigger. QB is such a crap shoot I don't know how many are convinced Jones was bad ick at 6. Giants are now a run oriented offense,
interviews yet -- that i may be a sign they are trying to trade back into the 1rst round
Or maybe they don't want to face all the questions about how they drafted a QB they prolly coulda had at 37 with the 6th overall pick? I wouldn't want to show my face either if I did something that stupid because "that's who Eli recommended."
Well I thought they'd go QB at 6 and D front 7 at 17. Never thought the QB woukd actually be this stiff Jones.

The Giants have talked with teams about trying to move back into the first round, per source. Well see if they can make it happen. Have 10 picks remaining.
Is one of the biggest drops from where he was expected to go prior to this time last year to now. I mean, this guy was talked about as the potential #1 overall pick.
He has not done himself any favors. So much talk about his teammates/coaches not really endorsing him or believing in him as a leader. And then he says he'd rather go 32 than really early to a bad team. Well, he might not go as early 32 anymore. He might not go in the top 50!
Something I would not have guessed going into this draft. But earlier today I said I wouldn't want him after what he said, and saying I couldn't imagine Baker or Darnold saying that last year.
Anyhow, a lot of value at the DB position now. And WR. A.J. Brown still on the board as well. Dalton Risner. Lots of good players still.
wow. We gave up three picks just to move up seven spots for Baker. What are we doing?
Do you have the picks?
I didn't think they'd take that many players with as many picks as they had going into the draft. But it seems the likelihood of getting a very similar player 7 picks later I think is very high.
RE: I would have went Byron Murphy - CB/Washington
The Giants had three first round picks in the same year -- with excellent chances to start next year (with Jones delayed a little, if he's what the pick says he is).

Cant say Id blame him.

So depends on if you're rooting for a QB or defensive player at 6...
need one more QB to go so that Allen drops to 6
Picking a QB like Jones when they passed on significantly better QB's last year would be infuriating.
Rosen or wait until 2020. Load up on defense in 1st round
I don't have much confidence in DG but hopefully he doesn't reach for a mediocre QB.

Me neither.

Still, I look forward to Gettleman's bumbling, folksy attempt to justify this.
D'OH!
Why would you reach for QB at #6 so he can sit a year? If you wanted to get a young guy in here why would you pay Manning all that money?
How do you honestly rationalize this pick? Washington wanted him? Holy shit, that makes me want him even less.
Saquon + Jones > Darnold and whoever (Allen, Quinnen if we picked higher)? I am not so sure.

Best pre snap read in the draft
Good pocket mobility
Surprisingly athletic
Mentally and physically tough
Good short game
(Fits Schurmurs scheme)
Cons:
Average arm
Doesnt really drive the ball downfield
Inconsistent in reading progressions
Known to force the ball into tight windows

The Giants just reopened the door to quarterback hell.

Probably not Jones, based off of what theyre saying. DG took him there because there were others interested in Jones. I just hope he proves folks wrong and becomes a very good Franchise QB.
My guess is Burns at #17.
I liked Burns as much as Allen. I am praying he is the target.
As for the Giants... Burns, Byron Murphy, Greedy Williams, Montez Sweat, Jawaan Taylor!, Cody Ford, etc.
Greedy Williams (shut down CB)
Brian Burns
Cody Ford
Jaylon Ferguson
Dexter Lawrence
Jawaan Taylor
I feel theres another reach coming. Maybe Jeff Simmons?
The next tackle Williams makes will be his first. He's more averse to tackling than Deion Sanders.
There is no guarantee for success, ever. Time will tell if Danny Jones was the right pick here. Personally, I really liked him, but like most here, thought we could've picked him at 17...especially the way this draft started out.
I hope Lawrence Taylor

That being said the Nashville set up looks awesome. That seems like it would be fun to attend the way they have it set up. Dallas looked awful last year. Philly was outside like Nashville by the art museum but not anywhere near as cool as the Nashville setup. I wonder if they will try New Orleans next on bourbon Street. Streets down there may not be wide enough to pull off something like they have in Nashville.
If they have it in Nashville again I may try to go. Nashville is an awesome city to begin with and that atmosphere just looks awesome tonight

Don't know about Cody Ford, and I don't know the extent of Jawaan Taylor's medical red flags
I didn't think he'd get by Denver.

My guess: Ferguson.
or Corner
I was almost expecting Lonnie Johnson or Rock Ya-Sin if they went corner.
Anyone have the trade details?
Do you have the picks?
I didn't think they'd take that many players with as many picks as they had going into the draft. But it seems the likelihood of getting a very similar player 7 picks later I think is very high.
Sy,
Is there an injury concern on Murphy at all?
