Joe Harvey was called back up as the corresponding move for sending Johnny Lasagna back down to Scranton.

Cameron Maybin was acquired by the Yankees today in exchange for cash considerations.

The Yanks have now won 6 straight and 8 of 9.

I know it's draft night, so many of us will be keyed in on our New York Football Giants. In the meantime, let's hope the boys can cap this off before heading to SF for a 3 game set.

Let's go, Yanks!

If you told me before the season that we'd have Brett Gardner
NoGainDayne : 4/25/2019 7:13 pm : link
in the 3 hole for multiple games and we'd be sitting at 14-10 I would have probably just asked you how much crack you just smoked and told you I have no idea what you are talking about
.
arcarsenal : 4/25/2019 7:20 pm : link
Believe it or not, Gardner has actually been hitting really well recently. He's been robbed a few times, too - Trout really stole what was probably a 2 run double from him last night on a defensive play that I'm pretty sure 95% of the CF's in baseball aren't making.

Since April 10th, Gardy has a .976 OPS.

There was a lot of questioning why we brought him back this year, and ideally, I don't want Gardy in the lineup every single night at this point in his career - but I'm not sure what we'd have done without him to this point. We've really needed him.

But yeah, I mean... Mike Tauchman is in the 5 hole and we're not even out of April yet. It's astounding what has gone on this month.. and yet, the Yanks just keep finding ways to win games and get through.

It'll be a really rewarding year if these guys can keep holding down the fort for a few more weeks. I'm enjoying rooting for the Urshela's Tauchman's and Ford's of the world even though I wish their replacements would get back as soon as humanly possible.
when so much goes so wrong so fast
RasputinPrime : 4/25/2019 7:25 pm : link
you can't help but get caught up in the craziness of it all. We are going to need our pitching staff to step up even bigger because we can't expect this lineup to put up 5 runs every night.
Yeah i've never really been a Gardner complainer
NoGainDayne : 4/25/2019 7:47 pm : link
one of the only likable home grown Yankees we had for a while.

But even in his best years I would have never expected him to be hitting 3.

No doubt, I said the same thing the other night... when Brett is batting 3rd, you know things have taken a very unexpected turn.

What a weird season so far. Our luck has to turn eventually, I would think...

I hope.

Wade singled, stole 2nd, stole 3rd, and then DJ drove him in with a single.

These are not your March 29th Yankees, folks.
Voit single was his 36th straight game
Dave in Hoboken : 4/25/2019 9:55 pm : link
with getting on base, which is the longest active streak in MLB today.

Urshela solo shot.

What a find this guy has been.
who does Gary choose as his first CS of the year?
RasputinPrime : 4/25/2019 10:29 pm : link
Trout.

Nailed him.

beautiful. Almost washes the Jones out of my crotch.
Great throw by Sanchez

c’mon, he’s a DH! /s
Sanchez is so much better behind the plate than Romine
Hsilwek92 : 4/25/2019 10:35 pm : link
and it’s not even fucking close.

How long until there’s bitching about them not hitting enough homeruns?

I can't tell you that, but I can tell you that once those people are satisfied, we will then start to hear all the complaints about how the team lives and dies with the long ball and does nothing but hit HR's and strike out!

Romine isn't good at anything. He's a backup catcher so its hard to bitch about a backup catcher, but I'm not sure why he is basically handed the job every single year. The guy is poor at everything. Sure, Yankees could do worse, but it doesnt seem like they ever even try to do better.
Gardner is one of my all-time favorite Yankees
RasputinPrime : 4/25/2019 10:42 pm : link
the way he has taken charge in the field and at the plate is awesome to watch.

Bellinger and Yelich @ 31 RBI's a piece on April 25th.

Insane. That's like... 200 RBI pace.

(I know they're not going to pace this way all year, but damn.. what an April for both guys. Bellinger especially. He's been scorching all month)

True. My comment though was more pointed to the moron Yankee fans who think that Romine is better than Sanchez.

Ugh. Just like that.. the lead is gone.

The splitter ain't splittin'...
I hope he can find it to finish out 6 innings at least
RasputinPrime : 4/25/2019 11:22 pm : link
but yea, his splitter stayed in a hidden vault in NYC with Gettleman's football acumen.
down 4-6 now -

Gary not looking great so far in his comeback.
This game is turning into a bigger comedy of errors
Mad Mike : 4/26/2019 12:08 am : link
than our draft tonight.

arcarsenal : 4/26/2019 12:13 am : link
Ugh. This one got away unless we have another major rally in our pockets.. but I'm thinking no.

Still - 3 out of 4 ain't bad. And Mape is on the bump tomorrow night in SF. Hopefully he can continue his stretch of recent dominance.
I really hate the fucking Angels
Hsilwek92 : 4/26/2019 12:31 am : link

Homers on consecutive nights to....Kole Calhoun??
Greg from LI : 4/26/2019 12:35 am : link
I mean, seriously? The guy is complete trash.
It was so nice to watch a no Sanchez
arniefez : 4/26/2019 12:47 am : link
no Andujar no Stanton Yankees for a few games. It's going to prove out over the next few years that horrible defenders and hundreds of strike outs do not win World Series.

I'm not saying that the AAA Yankees of the past 10 days would win one either. But give them Judge, Didi, Hicks, Frazier, Severino and Betances back and leave the rest of the guys on IL all year and they're a much better team.
