DG and PS had a conviction for Jones after the Senior Bowl and before the Combine, when the Kyler Murray story to Cardinals started to evolve, making
Rosen a possibility. They stuck with their conviction in the face of Rosen becoming available. It again tells me they never had a conviction for Rosen. They were never going to trade for him.
Jones has the makeup of what PS wants with his QB. PS is going to develop Jones further. I am intrigued of the prospects of this. Maybe they have something. We will see. Remember too, Jones will have an OLine, a premier running back and quality receivers to work with. This is a luxury Jones has never been afforded.
It's a nice compilation of Jones making NFL caliber throws. You will notice several big drops by his receivers. Link - ( New Window )
Thanks, good watch
I saw that video for the first time a month ago and it completely changed my opinion of Jones. I still wasn't sure if he has franchise QB upside but he definitely has skills.
Neither Cris Carter nor Joel Klatt impressed by Giants taking Jones. Klatt said that he thinks Giants overreached for each of their first round picks.
I've been watching a number of the daily Football shows over the past two months and I've always been impressed by Joel Klatt and he backs up what he has to say with stats. On Daniel Jones, he said that when he played against top opposition, he just didn't show anything, yardage, completion percentage were poor. I'm wondering if Gettleman is ignoring warning signs regarding the limitations of Jones's talent level and is "in love with" his character. It's great he can play under pressure, but can he actually make the passes against pro-level opponents?

How can you be competitive against top opposition, when your teammates are NFL caliber players? It takes 11 players to be successful. Case in point, the game against Clemson. The untalented Duke OLine could not handle the NFL Dline caliber of Clemson. Jones got killed. How can you judge that? Pretty dumb statement by Klatt.
I'm sure this has been said before, I was locked out of the site trying to change a password last night.
I remember listening to the 1979 draft, and when Pete Rozelle read the choice, the boos were overwhelmingly loud. Coach Ray with the Gunfighter Eyes was just coming on board, The Fumble was recent history, Joe Montana was available - this board was not in existence, but I can't imagine it would have been any better than last night.
Sometimes, the professionals know what they are doing.
Inside the war room:
Barring Getts (job at stake) NOT one man....NOT one is facing Mara. (Who is in the corner).
Betch isn't in room. Shurm is looking elsewhere, all the other suits are looking the other way. Literally twisting to turn facing away from the boss.
Its huge if you look at body language.
Mara looks like a bewildered child who was made King. Looking around: "what's going on?" Eyes darting around.
Where can I see this
