were pretty much unanimously considered the 3 "elite" prospects in this class. I was shocked we had a chance to land one of them and passed on the opportunity. Very surprised DG apparently did not see Allen as that "gold-jacket" type of player that you have to take regardless of what your needs are. Oh, but Josh Allen also would have filled a massive need.
Just makes no sense to me. But then again I was a HUGE Allen fan. I personally think he's going to have a better career than Bosa but that's just me.

(Spoiler alert, he had Lawrence ranked #5 with a borderline "Immediate starter, building block for a decade, franchise player" and Allen at 21 with a solid "First round talent, starter and/or majprity of the snaps each week")
The Giants actually had a passable pass rush last year based on the advanced stats. What hurt them the most was their atrocious coverage in the secondary.
The Giants unbelievably had a higher percentage of TDs/play when opposing QBs were under pressure.
I wanted an OT or pass rusher at 6, but I'm fine with our 3 picks in the 1st. I would think we are improved from where we were yesterday, I always consider every draft pick a crapshoot, so we'll see how it all pans out in a few years. As for now, I trust Gettleman and Co to improve the team. They haven't done anything in the last 2 years to make me believe otherwise.
I would have probably taken Allen then Jones (if he lasted) Â
So what do I know
Interesting. What is your source?
Skins would have taken him over Haskins??
So clearly you preferred Allen over Lawrence.
Again, let's revisit after they have played in the NFL for a while.
They can have him. Lock would have been an option at 17 if a QB had to be chosen.
Many here believe that he would have been available at 17 (including me).
So the premise of this thread is as I have stated initially.
Yeah well at least Lawrence had lasted.
So you would have gone Wilkins at 6. So that is another scenario to consider.
So for the purposes of the thread, it's really about whom you would have picked at 6 assuming Jones was picked at 17.
I'm not sure Lawrence is that much of a compromise.
Just makes no sense to me. But then again I was a HUGE Allen fan. I personally think he's going to have a better career than Bosa but that's just me.

So you are in the Allen/Jones camp.
Fair enough

LOL. Great insight.

Right. And it’s not like we need a young qb here or DL help. And our corners are so deep why draft the best collegiate cb....
Maybe you thought the giants had six first rounders.
I have much more confidence in Baker than Beal
I really like the CB at #30. We needed another cb.
