with this "culture" crap. Like, okay, you need to draft high-character guys, you can't have distractions in the locker room, I get it. But you're building an NFL football team, not a boy scout troop. Davis Webb was supposedly going to "work harder than anyone else in the league" to become the next franchise guy, next thing you knew he was cut. Players can only work so hard and "will" themselves to be better, all the "good teammate" stuff can only take you so far... at a certain point a guy just has to look like a good freaking football player him to be drafted at #6 overall. You can't draft a guy at #6 based on the idea that he has the same mentor as the Mannings, or that he WOULD HAVE been better if he had better talent around him at Duke. Everything I've seen from Daniel Jones- on film, at the Senior bowl (both practice and game), in workouts- just screams mediocrity. You can't shoot for safe and mediocre and expect to win a super bowl. You can expect to go .500 for a half-decade, but you can't win a super bowl.
