The crux of the issue....was really Josh Allen.

The draft fell perfectly for the Giants. One of the top 3 guys fell in our lap.

To add insult to injury, we were trading back to the 8th pick for him.

Bottomline,

The Giants drafted scared to lose.

If we drafted Josh at 6 and traded down for Daniel Jones at 8....none of us...would be pissy. We would have been fine with it...as Jones was probably not making it to 17.

I like Dexter, but if he is not Snacks clone....so why trade away Snacks? And sure hope that corner is the real deal but running a 4.5 is not great for a small corner.

The Giants needed to maximize value...and they failed miserably.

To make matters worse, the Redskin kick ass as far as value. We were making fun at Snyder....but he ended up with his QB and my favorite edge in Sweat.

I doubt DG will salvage this draft....but we have 7 shitty picks.....and if we can find some gems. Edge, Big WR, OL even trade some picks for proven players.

I wish folks would stop with the Snacks talk.

Completely different situation.

And to say the Redskins schooled the Giants and won the QB pick? Hey, I was a bit numb leaving Josh Allen on the board too. But let’s see how this plays out before we weigh in with absolutes.
What does Snacks have to do

with any decision that was made last night?

There are actually still Giants fans thinking about that guy?

I am not comparing QBs, nor schooling anyone

I am just duscussing Value....

Sweat if healthy is a great value pick.

Waiting on Haskins was also a great pick.

The Giants drafted Jones a little early....and could have easily have both Josh Allen and Jones.....if they truly were good card players
Dexter fills a need that was vacated by a player we gave away

So we saved some cap...but it was a net zero on the field
I am going to be copying and pasting this into lot of threads today:

You don't fuck around when you have someone grades as a Franchise QB.

I don't understand why so many on here can't get that through their head.

Gettleman and company gave us Barkley, Hernandez, Carter and Hill last year. You would think BBI would give them some trust based on that.

Snacks was a big guy who is 31 this year with bad knees. He might not have been over the cliff but he's booked the tickets to the coast. Even if we kept him, we'd probably have been looking for his replacement in this draft.

Still shocked they didn’t take Allen. Knowing they tried to move up to 8 to get him and failed is salt in the wound. Total head scratch.
Sure, longterm vs shortterm....I get it

I hope that is true...and yes, if Jones is a franchise QB..that is winning 4th qtr comebacks, leading us to Super Bowl victories.....who will care.

To be honest, I have some concerns with Josh Allen as he does have some bust factor.....and hope him and Sweat fail.

I am just tired with season tickets that are just misery

I did not realize Snacks was 31

Sure. But we have eyes. Watch any of Jones. At best he's a mundanely safe QB with an average at best arm. There's nothing about him which screams top half of the first round other than he's big, has decent wheels, is well coached and plays the way he's been told to play. Unfortunately that way is to play very safe with an absurd amount of one read bootlegs, rollouts, rpo's and screens to the point you wonder if he's actually playing safe or if he's been told to take the first read no matter what.

One of the fairest film reviews I've seen of him is this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbfeNHA9Yvg

and it pretty much matches up with what Sy says and what my own watching says. The upside isn't there. He's not a particularly bad prospect he's just not a particularly exciting one and not one where you see a high ceiling at all.

I think Daniel Jones has potential but certainly risky

I am fine with the player....just too early

Had Lawrence rated ahead of Allen. Some years he would’ve been the best DLine in the draft.
