Jadeveon Clowney - Reportedly on the block...

Thoughts on trying to get him? He could solve a BIG issue. Would cost a lot, would it be worth a future #1?
How many years is left

on his rookie deal? 2? I'd be tempted to give up a #1 for him, but the Giants might be really bad next year. Is there any way we can offer a first and get some sort of NBA/NHL "protection" on the pick. Something like 2020 1st pick to HOU, unless it's top 7, then 2021 1st instead.
I wouldn't have considered it before,

but now I might. Gonna be tough watching 16 more games of our D getting blown out because they can't rush the passer.

I’m not sure if something like that exists in the NFL. Those protections are in the CBA because of the lottery systems.

Is Clowney worth what could be a top 10 pick? When healthy and engaged, I’d say so.

I thought they paid him, no?
Trade next year’s 1

Clearly aren’t going to take a QB next year, so fuck it
Better suited to 4-3 DE
JonC : 4/26/2019 10:01 am : link
and not worth the contract he could see on the open market.

I was really hoping they passed on Allen because they had a deal for a guy like this in place

He's been a OLB in a 3-4 and in the last 3 years he's been to the Pro Bowl 3 times and has been a 1st team All Pro. He's absolutely worth the contract. He's a good pass rusher and an elite run stopper.
Nope

.
You have to factor in the cost to trade for him
JonC : 4/26/2019 12:00 pm : link
He's not the impact edge rusher they're looking for, and he doesn't fit their timeline either. Hard pass.
I will say he seems to have grown up a bit
JonC : 4/26/2019 12:07 pm : link
but he also benefits from Watt's presence big time. Watch him play, he's not what we need for $20M per.
