Me too, brother. He had nothing at Duke and is as tough as nails. Accurate as an intermediate passer which is what the RPO offense is predicated on.

I wasn't happy at first. He's growing on me as time goes on. I've read some encouraging articles and watched some college games with him in action. I trust PS in developing him.

damn, I really wanted Josh Allen. First time ive ever turned the draft off.

However, with blood pressure normalized and time to reflect, forgetting about Allen and focusing on the kid himself, im gonna trust the scouts; they obviously see something there. So im gonna root like hell for him, and keep up hope that we find a pass rusher and OT somewhere in this draft.

We are not a playoff team but will probably be better and maybe 7 wins, yes even without Odell. We will not be in position to draft high for a QB next year and no one can say how the potential 20 QBs will look next year. Also maybe more competition for QBs next year.

I will root for him for sure but I’m not sold on him. I truthfully pegged him as a late 2nd Round talent. I hope I’m wrong. I’ll be glad if I am.

I didn’t love Haskins either but had him higher than Jones.

I would have taken Oliver or Allen and worked to rebuild the defense in massive fell swoop and then addressed QB with Rosen or next offseason.

No doubt this front office and head coach have their legacy and future riding on Jones.

Nay on keeping Eli and drafting a QB at #6. A top ten pick shouldn't need a $17MM babysitter. If the kid needs a year to learn, fine - the Giants can lose even more effectively with Lauletta or Tanney than they have done with Manning since mid-2012.

Now that we have one, we are bitchign and complaining cause we took him too early, he didnt compile stats, he didnt look great against a team 2 years ago, etc...

It should be unanimous cause in reality how many people here can say for certainity they know the QB positon. I would be my house its less than 1%. So when someone who watches youtube videos, not even full games, and tells me what a person can or cannot do, well I will kidnly disregard them. When peopel reference PFF and other stats that uses euqations and formualas how to judge QBs - I will kindly disregard it.

but that doesn't mean I hate him.

He's our QB and I am done being disappointed. Guys it's time to support our new QB because bitching about it won't accomplish anything.

DG’s answers during his presser were downright terrifying. Thought the Big 10 OPY played in the Big 12, and then had to ask if the Big 12 was still around. He talked about how important it was to see QBs play live, and then said he saw Jones play live for 3 SERIES OF THE FUCKING SENIOR BOWL!!

I fear DG is slipping, and I remain very concerned about the near term future of this franchise.

I've watched Daniel Jones play several entire games and not once did I ever think "Damn, this guy is going to be a future top ten pick!"

In the three games I watched the closest (by far), know what Jones did?

33-54, 324, 1 TD 5 INT
14-42, 124, 1 TD 2 INT, which I had the pleasure of seeing in person. Hoos whupped that ass.
22-40, 240, 1 TD 2 INT

And you can huff and puff about supporting casts all you want - he wasn't playing Bama or Clemson in those games. That was against my goddamned Hoos, who before last year have been one of the biggest laughingstocks in college football, and they've owned his ass.

But I agree with Blogger - Eli should be out the door. Jones should be starting week 1. The strategy is poor.

But the Giants aren't working objectively with Eli, so they were never going to do this the right way.

...but as I mentioned on another thread, Daniel Jones is an athletic QB who becomes his own "pass protector," meaning pass rushers must respect that he can slip out of the pocket and gouge them with his legs. No disrespect for Eli, but defenders just salivate and drool when he drops back to pass and do not give one shit if they are reckless in how they attack him. That will stop the moment Daniel Jones takes the field;
