It's a legit thing to wonder. I'm not as down on the Jones pick as the OP but it fair to wonder if the organization is too conservative and stuck in ways and with people who are out of step. Not sure why you are snarky about it.

You say that, but as of now we still haven't recovered from that stretch of drafting. So we may survive, but it will only keep taking longer and longer.

Doesn't mean that I can't say it's a bad pick now, and it definitely doesn't mean I can't criticize what I feel is the rationale for why he was drafted. My beef is with the Giants FO's thought process as a whole.
It's as if you get bonus points if you were previous connected to the Giants and/or the Mannings. It shouldn't be like that.
