OT - Even if Remmers is coming I trade a bunch to move up

PatersonPlank : 4/26/2019 10:36 am
and get Taylor or Cody Ford. We need depth and Soldier isn't getting any younger. Getting either of these guys in the 2nd is a great deal, even if we give up a lot of picks and/or a player. Sets us up with Solder/Remmers, and this pick as backup/ swing tackle (plus of course Wheeler).

A great value here.
we absolutely do not have the assets

to move from late third to early second. no chance.

I think both will be gone within the first 10 picks tonight.

We'd have to give up a TON to move up from #95 back into the 30s.

Evan Engram is worth a second round pick.

this in another thread, but I'd move Engram for a 2nd for a RT and then take the TE from San Diego State in the 3rd.
Greg Little and Yodny Cajuste will also likely be taken in Round 2

I'd keep an eye on David Edwards of Wisconsin, Will Sweet of UNC, Chuma Edoga of USC and Bobby Evans Jr. of Oklahoma if we stay pat. We could also go for Sy's boy Max Scharping.
No

you can't start trading all the draft capital to move that far up. Let's see how the draft plays out. Sign Remmers and then draft Scharping if he falls to 95 or draft on day 3 draft an OT like Yosh Nijman or Trey Pipkins.
We could trade Jones for a third rounder

Let's trade all our players and get more picks and then trade them too.
This idea of trading Engram...
Gmaniac1 : 4/26/2019 10:48 am : link
... is just so wild and dumb and not-gonna-happen.

Hey, let's trade Daniel Jones too. Maybe we could get Rosen and more picks for him. Why not?

It's wild and dumb, but I could easily see Gettleman doing it.
Trading Engram for Risner
adamg : 4/26/2019 10:50 am : link
would be fine imo.

Do you really think you'd get a 2nd for Engram? That seems a mite optimistic.
OK with trade up
Pepe LePugh : 4/26/2019 11:03 am : link
But not fora tackle if we’re confident in Renee’s. My trade up would be for C or edge, maybe WR.
I think we’re in good shape for a decent comp pick next year, se if 95 and 2020 3rd does the trick, I’m in.
There have been 2 precedents set with Gettleman in his career
SLIM_ : 4/26/2019 11:12 am : link
He likes to draft DT's early.

He finds good offensive lineman later in the draft.

I still say we need to go defense.

To be honest i haven't watched all of the tackle prospects, but i watched some film on Scharping. I liked his kick step, he seemed to have great fliudity in his stance. I forgot about him for a while...i think he can be good. Happy to hear Sy likes him as well
Stack the Defense
Shecky : 4/26/2019 11:16 am : link
Sprinkle in OL depth and a WR (deep class this year).
