Sy nailed Lawrence.

#1- while the Giants didn't acquire a pick between those numbers they ended up acquiring another pick in top 32.. So that one seems like digging deep to show fault.

I think the Giants original plan was to go Def and then QB but Denver and Washington seemed like threats to get the QB they wanted. So again, not a huge surprise and most were very adamant that Haskins was not an option. That seems to be right on as well.

So some were correct.

They made an overture but did not have serious talks.

Hard to say that when certain ones literally called the picks before they were made.
And a new one popped up right before the trade back into the first...

But sometimes I don't know if we are being played by a troll, or if the Asshat is being used to disseminate false/misleading information, or if the sources are just wrong. I can still see the text in my mind "if Josh Allen is there at 6, the Giants will sprint to the podium"

are great - even if they heard Jones was the pick, they probably did not believe it, I know I did not when Goodell announced his name.

Papa, Banks, and Diehl all said the same thing that jtgiants was saying before the draft. They said that the Giants liked Jones but they heard they would go defense at 6 and target Jones at 17.

depending on the info they’re fed by sources who most likely were fed wrong info as well be it in error or on purpose.

Contrary to popular belief, Rosen does not walk on water

There are multiple, often conflicting, opinions in the war room leading up to the pick(s). I don't take the "Jones was the pick a week ago" too seriously. I imagine there are multiple sources of information about the players, potential trades and other teams' plans up to the minute of making a draft decision. The fact that BBI had a small peek into some of that was a blessing and make the last week or so very intriguing.

I don't think that any of the sources "got it wrong". I think they were trying to give whatever scraps of info they could to make BBI a more informative/entertaining place. Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't think there was intentional deception by anyone.

I've seen the decision making process at some fairly high levels in corporate America. If there were a few random sources giving out slivers of information during the process up to the decision-making point, it would look a lot like the asshat/BBI environment. All of those sources could have been accurate about the info coming out, but ultimately "wrong" about the final decision.

I hope that none of the sources are discouraged by the outcome or the reaction by BBI. Many thanks for providing what you can, and hopefully it continues.

What the heck are you talking about? I didn't want a QB @ 6, I wanted Josh Allen - the guy jt said we'd run to the podium to take if he was available - which he was, and we didn't.

And when did I complain? I was one of the only guys here last night not throwing a hissy fit even though they didn't do what I'd have done. I literally started a thread telling people to give Jones a chance before burying him.

His posts were just as emotional. It's obvious that however much of his supposed inside info was legit, there was a ton of his personal hopes for the team's plan intertwined with the info. It's clear now that a lot of the content like "they're not taking a QB at #6 because they believe they can win now" or "they have no interest in Rosen" was JT's own opinion, even if it was based on contextual clues from the inside info that he was receiving.

shade or call anyone out, and always appreciate asshat info, right or wrong, or whatever.. just was curious as to what happened/what may have changed.. kind of like a post mortem analysis of the situation. i realize everything is fluid.

but i'm one of those who wanted them to go defense both picks, or defense/right tackle. also didnt expect them to trade a bunch of picks to move up seven spots then sit til the end of the third.

so its more about what i thought should happen vs. what gettleman thought. i won't question him at this point, he's been doing this a long time, but i am definitely disappointed to this point. but what do i know.
