What is the ceiling for the Giants in 2019?

nyjuggernaut2 : 4/26/2019 11:26 am
Look at the current roster now (and say add Remmers to the mix if you like) where would you put their ceiling at for the upcoming season. 8-8, 9-7?
Super bowl or bust

but in all honesty..... if they can form the dominate run game thye want by controlling the clock and stopping the run.... 10 wins is the max I see.

The schedule isnt all that difficult.

16-0
7-9

3 wins, maybe 4 if we're lucky
Geomon : 4/26/2019 11:30 am : link
We still don't have a defense that I know of.
Probably 7 wins
The_Boss : 4/26/2019 11:31 am : link
I’m sticking by my 5-11.

The real question is if Jones starts in 2020 and he’s god awful and we go 2-14 or 3-13 and earn the #1 pick, do we go Trevor Lawrence in 2021?
7-9
Oscar : 4/26/2019 11:32 am : link
And that is optimistic
7-8 wins
ryanmkeane : 4/26/2019 11:33 am : link
and keep building.

Not unless he cuts that hair! Can’t have hair like that and be a Giants QB!
that being said

if we end up sucking, we could get an absolute haul from a team that wants a QB in the 2020 draft. But by that time, everyone might be fired anyway
Let's wait until June
SLIM_ : 4/26/2019 11:34 am : link
we have 84% of the draft left and some vet free agents still lurking.
We might have the worst pass rush in the league...
Tesla : 4/26/2019 11:36 am : link
our LB'ers are well below average, we don't have a RT or an X receiver.

We're going to be bad. Really bad.
They are going
Giants38 : 4/26/2019 11:41 am : link
To absolutely suck.
Top five pick
Nine-Tails : 4/26/2019 12:06 pm : link
Next year. We're going to get our pass rusher next year.
0-16
ZogZerg : 4/26/2019 12:46 pm : link
Blown out twice by Haskins and the skins

DG let go mid season.

Giants traded 2020 #1 pick for a scrub tonight and don't even get to pick first and lie to the world that they don't know who they are going to take.....
6-10

its the top covering

of a room. Sometimes covered with plaster and/or paint.
Ceiling?
Angus : 4/26/2019 3:16 pm : link
Crazy things happen that let the worst of teams have really good records, so ceiling is not a good yardstick. 7-9 with this schedule is realistic/optimistic.
Stucco

As in stucco in last place.

This is actually a great supposition. I had been thinking it's a 2 year process where we build the best team, mainly by getting great defensive talent, and plug a great QB in next year. Assuming that DG and PS et al know what they've been trained to do and Jones is okay (although I have no illusions that he will be better than Fromm et al) maybe we can do the reverse and get great defenders next year. I don't know what the 2020 non-QB class is like, but one advantage to having multiple picks is that all those juicy QB's are going to push a bunch of really good players down.
6-10 is my guess and that may be too optimistic

8-8...
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 4/26/2019 3:27 pm : link
I think we won't be the joke some expect us to be.
Five wins is the ceiling
mikeinbloomfield : 4/26/2019 3:41 pm : link
We have no one to rush the passer and one veteran CB, but that's ok because we don't have any proven run stoppers or LBs that can cover either.

On offense, we've got Saquon, Sterling Shepard, Sterling Shepard's older twin on his fourth team, a TE that blocks like a WR and QB teetering on the edge of a cliff.
