Direct TV

bobc : 4/30/2019 2:29 pm
I just moved to Florida and besides hanging all game in a bar or direct TV is there any app or anything else that would allow me to get giants football? I have MLB app to take care of the Yanks, even the NBA app to watch the Knicks (yea it hasn't been worth it but i'm old and still watch them) is there any way I can pay to watch the Giants other than direct TV hear to many stories about storms knocking out the reception and it rains everyday here. Thanks

Sunday ticket is the only “legal” way

I went all streaming personally and couldn’t be happier.
I don’t think legally...

You can always look for online streams on game day.

With that said, I am huge fan of DirecTV and have been a customer for years. Their customer service is the absolute best in the industry. They always accommodate me on pricing when it is time to renegotiate.

As far as the weather goes, I only lose service in extreme storms, usually for less than a minute. I have never lost service for more than 3-4 minutes. It has never been an issue.

Do you know anyone with DirecTV?

I cut the cord last year and wasn’t sure what to do about Giants games. I previously had DirecTV/Sunday Ticket.

My in-laws have DirecTV, so i wrote them a check for the Ticket and then just streamed the games via the AppleTV app. Worked flawlessly and no issues with the weather disruption.

Also, if you’re patient, the NFL is clearly going to opt out of the AT&T deal after this season and offer a streaming package. Doesn’t help you this year but may help you avoid a contract.
DirectTVNow App or Sling
BigBlue2112 : 4/30/2019 2:50 pm : link
I believe, and correct me BBI if I'm wrong, that when you subscribe to one of the streaming cable providers such as SlingTV or DirectTVNow, the local channels (Fox, NBC, ABC, etc) will be determined by your credit card billing address, not your location. Have a family member in NJ/NY pay for and you pay them.

If this isn't the case and it is based on your location, get a VPN and change your location to NJ/NY.
GamePass

NFL GamePass is an option...but you cannot watch the games live. You have to wait until ~8pm every Sunday to watch the game. Every Sunday that the Giants play at 1 or 4, I put the phone away and keep busy until I can watch at 8. Otherwise, there is always someone that will be messaging me providing spoilers.

I keep meaning to try streaming with a VPN, but never get around to it.

I have DTV Now and am in the NYC market. I tried streaming a Giants game a year or so ago from SF and it was a no go. I got the local SF channels.

Another Possible Option

I don't recall the specifics but if you live somewhere that will not allow you to install a satellite dish (i.e. certain apartment complexes) DirecTV allows you to get the ticket via streaming through an xbox and a couple other devices.
I have used
jintsjunkie : 4/30/2019 4:52 pm : link
first row sports streaming on a Mac, then through airport to TV. Sometimes good, sometimes not so much. A lot of reconnects and spam gambling ads, but hey, I watched the jints in Virginia during the 2016 season. I google firstrowsports.uk and start there. Have used Reddit as well.
