per Dan Duggan. The 6-3, 284-pound Akinmoladun, who played at Nebraska, was a tryout at rookie minicamp two weeks ago. No word yet on corresponding move.
They replaced Prince Amukamara at Nebraska with Freedom!!! Â
Freedom Akinmoladun started all 12 games at defensive end for Nebraska in 2018, ending his career with 41 career starts, including each of his final 37 games. Akinmoladun totaled 29 tackles, three TFLs and 2.5 sacks in his senior season, while adding four quarterback hurries. Bio - ( New Window )

"Akinmoladun totaled 29 tackles, three TFLs and 2.5 sacks in his senior season."
2.5 sacks his SENIOR season. I don't think his senior season consisted of 41 games.
with the Giants, we also had Nebraska G Gerald Foster in for a tryout. The Giants didn't sign Foster, but he then was a tryout player with the Washington rookie camp, and ended up with a contract with the Redskins.
Regarding Freedom, he had different coaches during his first 3 years at Nebraska. Last year was the only year he was coached by Mike Dawson.
From building a preschool for children while abroad in Panama to the 100-plus volunteer events he has dedicated himself to while at Nebraska, Akinmoladun proved his deserving of the award. Along with considerable efforts in giving back to the community, his excellence in the classroom was among the reasons for receiving the 2018 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team award.
And check out his length! He is #98. Link - ( New Window )
Two other random points on those practices:
1) Buffalo OL James O'Hagan, who the Giants signed, is #77 (matchup at 1:46).
2) Check out #57 Kolin Hill (Texas Tech) planting Syracuse T Cody Conway on his ass at 2:50 of video. Conway signed with the Titans after the draft. Hill hasn't gotten any calls.. but if you run through his reps and what he did against guys who got and still have opportunities, it baffles me.
Practice and scrimmage videos can be seen on CGS Youtube channel by going to Playlists (linked). About 95% of the Wranglers group are on NFL teams right now, and probably about 75% of Desperados group. Names + Numbers are in video description. Link - ( New Window )
These names drive me nuts when I'm updating the various pages on the site!

Hah, I saw his name and my first thought was... this guy is definitely a Giant.
On this board? We could sign a guy named Smith and there would be some portion of posters who would butcher the spelling.

Brian Cashman and the Yankees analytics department have spotted potential with this player....
You beat me to it.
Last year he was coached by Mike Dawson, our new outside linebackers coach.

That makes some sense...the Dawson connection... because nothing I've found on this guy screams "sign me."
Well played!
