| German police searching the apartment of a 30-year-old woman who, along with two others, was fatally shot with a crossbow in an upstairs room of a German B& B have found two more victims who reportedly died the same way. The bodies of two women—both reportedly also shot with crossbows, according to news reports there—were found in a bedroom of the apartment on Monday, two days after the three bodies were discovered at the guesthouse in Passau. Police there say they likely died several days earlier. None of the five victims have yet been identified by name. Detectives went to the woman’s home in Lower Saxony after it was discovered that she had booked the triple room in the B& B under her name. Local news outlet Merkur reports that one of the new victims may be the 30-year-old woman’s sister. Neighbors said the 30-year-old was quiet and dressed in a “gothic style.” One neighbor said, “She never greeted anyone.” The grim discovery was made on Monday in Wittengen, Lower Saxony, hours away from the macabre discovery at the B& B in Passau, where the 30-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man—all German citizens—were found by a chambermaid in a triple room. They had all been impaled with crossbow arrows, known as bolts. The older man was described as a skilled archer who often carried crossbows in his white pickup truck, according to the German news service DPA. The man and the older of the two women, who were both from Rhineland-Palatinate but apparently did not live together, were found hand-in-hand on the double bed with several arrows protruding from their chests and heads, investigating prosecutor Walter Feiler told the German news agency DPA. Not really. Are you familiar with them is that why you say it takes a minute or so or is it because that's what you think it takes. I have one, though I never use it anymore I only use a compound bow (more skill and much harder to learn IMO), But in my experience it takes about 10 seconds to load a crossbow (if I'm trying to reload quickly). You put your foot on the bottom and pull the bow up into place and place the arrow in the slot.
However I agree with you, reload time - 10 second or a 1 minute gives a victim an opening if....they're awake, not scared to the point they're immobile, and the place their bodies were found is actually where they were killed.
This whole thing sounds like a criminal minds episode where a psychopath lets people run around in the woods at his B&B and hunts them down like animals.

Yes. You can, but I believe this was a crossbow, not a compound bow. Compound bow (think Robin Hood) I don't think would be possible or at least not easy because you may not be able to generate the velocity into yourself to be fatal, but a crossbow possibly.
I think maybe it would be easier to just plunge the arrow into your carotid artery or something, but suicide by crossbow has happened before.
I'm not sure we have all the information yet (on the first scene). For example, how did the authorities reach the conclusion it was a murder suicide? Was there a note? I think my first assumption would be triple homicide.

Police reportedly found two wills belonging to 53-year-old Torsten W. and 33-year-old Kerstin E., who were found dead Saturday holding hands on a bed in a three-room suite at the hotel in the southern German city of Passau. They’d both suffered crossbow wounds in the head and chest. Below them, 30-year-old Farina C. was found “lying in front of the double bed” with “one shot from a crossbow between the throat and the chin,” public prosecutor Walter Feiler said.
German prosecutors now believe Farina C. shot the couple first before turning the crossbow on herself as part of a “killing on demand,” according to the Associated Press. The couple were found next to their wills by a hotel worker, but authorities have not released details from their documents. It was not immediately clear how the three victims were related.
The trio’s deaths have been linked to two more women who were found dead Monday inside the bedroom of Farin C.’s apartment after “one of the neighbors heard about the reports in Passau and told police that the mailbox of the apartment was overflowing and that a strange smell was coming from [inside],” the BBC reported.
Police believe the women, one of whom was reportedly the partner of Farin C., likely died several days earlier, but they are still waiting on the autopsy reports for an official cause of death. No crossbows or arrows were found at the apartment, which is about two hours away from the Passau hotel, AFP reported.

On the floor in front of them in a pool of blood was 30-year-old Farina Caspari, suspected of honoring Weiss’s dominator command to first kill him and Enders, and then take her own life, which she clearly did, according to investigators.
Weiss and Enders left wills at their sides, presumably to ensure that the motives were clear. "Investigators suspect they were all members of a kind of sex circle with a focus on the Middle Ages,” according to RTL news quoting local investigators on the scene. “[Weiss] may have been the guru of the group.”
Caspari, who hailed from Lower Saxony some 250 miles north of Passau, had booked the triple room online so investigators naturally started their investigation at her house to determine whether anything on her computer or in her possession would shed light on the motive for the strange deaths. They found two more female victims, One, identified only as Gertrud C., was her lover, according to police.
