I found it comical how some were praising the Jets this offseason as if they were headed in the right direction. Maccagnan lost his power struggle with the newly hired Gase. This makes me wonder if Maccagnan wanted to go in a different direction for the HC but ownership forced Gase on him.
Good luck finding a new GM this late in the offseason. I expect several candidates to turn them down.
This is the Jetsiest move since Rex Ryan was out there Â
who is close with someone in the jets organization ,this is the email the guy in the organization sent him the day after round one of the draft
Remember after FA when I said i heard there was a rift between Mac and Gase already? Well according to my very reliable source within the Jets organization, not only is it 100% true, but it is BAD! Its stems from a few things. 1) Gase being a type A psycho control freak who is now realizing his loss of personal power kind of sucks and look at Mac as a lame duck GM, 2) the apparent fact that Mac is totally wishy washy and cant make a decision and 3) Free agency. There were two players Gase really wanted in FA that Mac would not go after. One, as we discussed prior was Paradis. Gase wanted him, Paradis wanted the Jets, for whatever reason Mac said no. The other was a TE from Cleveland (cant recall his name) that Mac also said no to. And this really pissed off Gase. Also while the organization doesnt totally blame Mac for the Barr debacle, they are pissed that it made the team look so bad and also that Mac had no plan B and now they still need an edge rusher. Rumor (unconfirmed) is that there was a chance Mac was going to be canned after the draft...again totally unconfirmed.
There was a dinner last Wednesday between Gase, Mac and a moderator to try and mend the rift. i dont know if all is well or not now but that prior Gase was trying to do what he could to force Mac out. So the dysfunction continues....
Other briefs ON The draft not saying all are true, just what i heard.
Sam Darnold is entering year 2 in NFL system number 2 with a head coach, who in addition to implementing this system and teaching it to his franchise QB will be juggling GM duties for the first time as well.
Mac must've been as big of an asshole as the media portrayed him to be. I mean he gets the (the hopeful) franchise QB last year, he gets the BPA in this year's draft, he spends a SHIT TON of money in FA...And they can him?
page. Makes sense to end the problem rather than let it linger for a year and make the move later on. Looks like they are going to hire Eagles director of personnel. He's a well-thought of guy and the Jets will be better off long term.
The Jets OL and WR core were among the worst in football and how do the Jets address it? They let James Carpenter go and instead trade for Kelechi Osemele. Osemele was coming off arguably the worst season of his career and will be 30 next season. They have a huge hole at center and they could use an ugrade at both tackle spots especially RT where Shell struggled last season. Winters is an average at best RG also. They did draft Chuma Edoga in round 4 which was a good pick IMO but he will likely need to kick inside in the pros. He is also a developmental type who won't contribute next season.
Their answer to address the WR position? Giving Jamison Crowder over 9 million per season after recording 29 catches for 388 yards last season. They didn't draft a WR either.
If you're not listening to Joe Benigno in times like this, Â
Had a very good offseason: got Le’veon Bell and CJ Mosley and drafted Quennen Williams at 3, not to mention last year’s draft of Sam Darnold . Jets are just fcukin dumb
That's where I just heard it and started the thread. Joe just said, I'm done for the day, i'm going to play golf.

Jinx - buy me a coke..
He will likely be around shortly to try to convince us that this was a brilliant move.
