65 degrees and clear at first pitch. Thank Christ.
Tauchman back for the doubleheader and no Aaron Hicks for game 1.
sorry!
I deleted that "shit"
Guy has not played in a game since Saturday due to rain outs and can’t play two games today with a off day tomorrow lol
I deleted that "shit"
recognize
My schedule says Yes for both
Anyone have any faith that Severino will be back this season and pitching well?
What about your opinions of Judge and Stanton? Anyone remember when Stanton was always injured, early in his career?
This is now the second year in a row that Judge has had a significant injury. Sure he was hit by a pitch last season, it can't be prevented, I agree completely with that, yet here we are.
I guess you all must be beaming with confidence over Andujar's injury, another DL stint should straighten this right out.
If you are like me you have no concern at all over Hicks, this is just a back injury, and he just got his long term contract, so he should be ready to roll, no concern at all.
Of coarse I am being sarcastic, I am concerned and frustrated as a Yankee fan about them all. Is it me that feels even more concerned when I see players being rested at times I feel it is pathetic to do so? Why are we going out of our way to rest players constantly, it never ends, every game there is someone, the A lineup is never used, because we are always resting someone. I know this is all me, but it all concerns me, I never seen these things with the Jeter teams, or with the Munson teams, Mantle wanted to kill himself before he would be taken out of a lineup, at least when you see that type of attitude it makes you feel like the players are all in. Like I said, I am a dinosaur.

Is Boone resting him or did he injure himself again gazing at his own reflection in the gym ??

I just sometimes wonder how dumb fans can get. The guy is coming off a long injury with a back and you want him to play a double header his first games back. Man, oh man.

Meredith just said Hicks is playing game 2 today!

I hear ya Paul. In the old world you were expected to actually play every day and play hurt to help your team. Those days are over. Todays players are juicing and live in the gym to add even more muscle mass/bulk. Their frames are maxed out and most of the injuries are weight training related and not baseball injuries. Rarely will anyone play more than 140 games now. It is ironic that being unnaturally stronger and bigger makes you even more susceptible to injury. But that is baseball today.

You’re better off ignoring assclowns like Mike Graves, averagejoe and prdave. They simply aren’t very bright and make us all worse off for having to read their bullshit.
Yeah cause a guy like Stanton with a career .905 OPS is not needed at all. Ignore that he helped carry this team last year after the Judge injury and this team would not have made the playoffs last year without him.
I see the fan dumb is strong today.
If opinions you don't agree with offend you don't read them. And then maybe go have a good cry.
You are right. A couple of WTF posts that are truly annoying.
?
Posada was a total butcher though. No way the Yankees were winning any WS titles with defense like that at catcher.
Steaming hot to now ice cold. And it is not like he's being blown away. He's just missing pitches.
3-3
Signing Happ over Corbin didn't make sense at the time....and looks like a horrific decision now.
Who could have guessed that a 36 year old pitcher overly reliant on his FB could go south so quickly?
A few million? What $7 mill per season.
Through 1995, he was. After that? Not so much.

I'm going to think...."We could have had Corbin for a few million more per year."
A few million? What $7 mill per season.
And an extra 4 years...
As Torres hits another HR. Cheapie this time only 350 ft.

It's 3 more years, as Happy signed a 3 year deal. Plus Corbin has an enormous amount of deferred money....present day value is probably around $20 million year vs. $17million for Happ.

So deferred money isn't money?
+1. Nice piece of hitting.
2 with the third year option like Dune posted.
So we can just cherry pick stats? His NL stats and MVP are meaningless? My god. He has a career .905 OPS and +wRC 142. Those are both better than Bryce Harper who some fans wanted to throw 13 year contracts at.
I really don't know how fans can get this dumb.
That was really close, talking a few inches. And they go by sound more than see. I thought he was safe in real time.
Nope. Just pulled him.
Nope. Just retired 4 in a row. But he wasn't sharp and I guess boone decided to bullpen it.
If he had a three or four run lead, he probably stays in the game.
I know I've given you a hard time in the past but this is high quality stuff here. No real name calling and absolutely laugh out loud funny. I'm still cracking up as I right this. Well done.
Yeah, he needs to sit more and he will once Hicks is established. At this point he is a defensive replacement.

can usually take what arnie says and apply the opposite to it and you'll be right more than the current Jeopardy champion.

Thanks!! Maybe I'll have to retire the blue material!
Thanks!! Maybe I'll have to retire the blue material!
Say it ain't so! With B gone who else can carry the torch?
He's been incredible. I don't want to jinx him but he is their best reliever right now
Now get some quick rest and back out there to sweep the miniseries.
Set to start after this commercial - about 6:40ish
I also expected Morales at first and Sanchez at DH.
We have forgotten how well shitting on a player in a slump worked earlier in the year. Keep shitting on slumpers!
Ok.
You missed it. He walked first time up!
And Why oh Why is Cessa up and not Britton or Kahnle?
And Why oh Why is Cessa up and not Britton or Kahnle?
Britton and Kahnle have already pitched today. It's not the playoffs, they're not coming back in tonight.
And Why oh Why is Cessa up and not Britton or Kahnle?
Because boone decided to yank happ at 64 pitches and use them in the 1st game of a doubleheader
Please get Britton, Kahnle, Green or Ottavino up for the 8th.

He said they are available.
DJLM is fine there too. I expect they'll share the position.
3-1 much better than 2-1
That was UGLY.
The one thing I disagreed with Mike Axisa about. He wanted to stay with Robertson over Britton.
The one thing I disagreed with Mike Axisa about. He wanted to stay with Robertson over Britton.
Especially since something is seriously wrong with Robertson. The Phillies say it is a flexor strain- but he was bad when he pitched, they rehabed him- and when he tried to throw, they had to shut him down for at least 3 more weeks.
Wouldn't be surprised if this turned into TJ for Robertson.

He looks more like 2014-2016 Zach Britton who was basically unhittable with that 97mph two seamer. Obviously if he throws like that he is much better than Robertson. He is also 3 years younger which is important.

Britton throws is crazy. Drops like a splitter or change but is 96 mph.

Sorry to hear that. I truly like Robertson.

xactly.....
I look forward to Friday’s game thread with the usual cast of characters killing Boone on his lineup decisions. He’s obviously an imbecile that can’t get out of his own way. Doesn’t know who to start, who to rest, where to put the guys in the batting order and which pitchers to bring in and when. Good times!
Need to give credit where credit is due.
Sawx won in the 10th....
That kid Chavis has been raking, since he was called up.
I think he was the kid popped for 80 games last year
for PED's down in the minors.
Good to see the Pinstripers, with a double dip!
It sounds like Happ wasn't too excited being taken out
in Game 1, but didn't make a stink about it at least.
