Odell Beckham Jr.actually believed that being traded from New York to Cleveland would end the constant obsession with his comings and goings.
OBJ's whereabouts continue to be a major discussion point during his first offseason with the Browns, primarily because he has spent so little time with the Browns. After showing up for the first day of the offseason program, Beckham stayed away from the team until Tuesday, the first day of Organized Team Activities. And, after that one day, he’s gone

Great talent, not worth the BS attached
Seriously people still care. Let it go hes gone not our problem anymore.
LOL. This reminds me of a funny quote related to Howard Stern's early career.
Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes a day. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.
Kenny: How could this be?
Kenny: : All right, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?
Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
I'm sure the same is true on BBI.
“It’s also important for him to be mentally ready to be here. I’m not giving him an out … It’s better for him to be here when he can present his best self. Emotionally and physically,” Kitchens said at a Wednesday press conference.
OBJ Not Mentally Ready - ( New Window )
They hired the wrong guy. That's going to be a disaster.

They traded for the wrong guy.
The scrutiny and expectation on the players is not fair based on the CBA agreed to by the players and the NFLPA.
mandatory? different story.
but don't make it optional and then make players out to be selfish or uncaring because they don't spend the whole time there.

They also acquired a lot of the wrong guys.
It's not going to go well in Cleveland.

As for the team's front office, they are bound by the CBA to keep their mouths shut if they don't have anything good to say about the player or players.
As of a few days ago:
Bettcher: My evaluation is two things. I flew from Arizona to Michigan and spent a bunch of time with him when he was coming out. I thought he was a dynamic kid and the people that were around him loved him. I got multiple texts from coaches that worked with him in Cleveland and it was not something I asked for, this was after we traded for him and they said that we were going to love him. He is going to work exceptionally hard and is going to be about what it is supposed to be about. You see him out here, we are doing stuff against the air and he is moving, sliding and running around. He is in a stance and sometimes you want to be like, slow down, this is on air. He is exciting.

Yup. Won’t be long before Josina Anderson is writing stories criticizing the coach, citing “anonymous” sources...p

She was already on NFL Live today citing her "anonymous" sources regarding Cleveland. I didn't pay attention to what she was saying as she is always a shit-stirrer. But I got a chuckle hearing her cite her "anonymous" sources and was thankful for DG shipping out her "sources" here.
+1
I'm going to hunt down every one of you after OBJ has 30 more receptions, 400 more yards and 5 more touchdowns than any wide receiver on the Giants.
For years I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, and I don’t think it will make or a break a season, but I see it as a red flag into the mentality of the player and not really as team oriented as they want you to believe.
I’m sure his teammates loved him and thought the world of him, but it’s become very clear that OBJ comes first. His inability to control his emotions/actions (and physical injuries) hampers him greatly, and I doubt that becoming a global superstar as a rookie helped his maturation at all.
LMAO
He's the Carmelo Anthony of football. As a NY team you want no part of him. Maybe in baseball.
He can't go on and on about how excited he is to work with Landry and Mayfield and then miss out. That's what people took exception to here. He talked about being on the same page as Eli, but never attended any voluntary stuff.
With a player like Beckham, the talent level is so high that you just keep hoping he'll "get it" and grow up and figure it out. I know I did for a long time when he was here.
Sadly, it doesn't look like he's learned anything and probably never will. He'll be that guy on a 30 for 30 in about 15 years talking about how much he regrets the way he handled his pro career and wishes he would have done things differently.
Such a narcissist.

Yeah, he's all heart. Great teammate. At least he left us with this image before taking the last four games of the season off:
This really has been a wonderful, hilarious offseason.
Or is it?
Journalists were accused of "shit-stirring". Some fans were even questioned as racists.
Fun times.

If you're referring to Kitchens, it sounds like he was making excuses for OBJ. If you're referring to the media and the fans, they have every right to scrutinize and criticize. The media and the fans were not a party to the CBA that says it's optional. If we see 98% of the team fully attending the OTAs and one or two guys who either don't show up or show up for a day or two and then leave, then of course it should be questioned and scrutinized. Maybe the one or two have legitimate reasons for not being there, but surely it's fair for the media and fans to ask the question why.

Kitchens and OBJ has hilarious disaster written all over it XD
I tend to think getting rid of Vernon for the guy blocking Shazier was his best move:
