I wasn't crazy about this past episode (too much about flaky Sally's career), but...what a "holy shit!" ending.
Fuches is NOT going to do Gene, is he?
All the preview for next week showed was Barry telling Fuches on the phone that he was coming for him. Was Barry calling from a hospital? Was Gene there? Was Gene alive but critically injured?
This show goes from goofball comedy to heart-pounding suspense in seconds. It's nuts. I love it.
In the scenes from next week it was awesome to hear barry "Fuches, I'm coming for you" or whatever he said.
But just the fact that they teased "I'm coming for you, Fuchs" suggests Gene must be alive because what would be the point of ending a show on a cliffhanger if the very next thing you did was tell your audience that Gene gets killed in next week's episode. Clearly the promo was done to mislead us.
We got to talking about Barry... And he was like "the lawyer from Arrested Development is really good as Gene"...
I said "you mean Henry Winkler??? When you see Henry Winkler, your mind goes to..the lawyer from Arrested Development!?"
Him: yeah
Me: dude, he's Fonzie..... From Happy Days..
Dude had no idea...

Some of the improv scenes are hilarious, Gene is great.
hank obviously great and Hader and Root carry the show.
That was one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in a long, long time.

Sally is one of those characters where it's practically a badge of honor if people hate her. It shows she's doing her job well.

I don't hate Sally's character (and I think Sarah Goldberg is doing a good job portraying the character).
But Sally's acting career story arc can kind of slow down the rest of the show a bit (when it's not being used to showcase Barry's conflicts, that is).
