Another example of why no one should have given much attention to his story about teams wanting Daniel Jones as a TE. He is easily the worst beat writer in the country and even Jets fans hate him.
Pat Leonard. See any connection? The Daily News is a garbage paper. What was once a good read years ago has turned into a daily rag with writers that belong working for TMZ.
here's how it probably looked. You're hearing all this stuff about MacCagnan and Gase having trouble. You have pretty good sources inside the organization, and you trust them. You go to them and ask if there's anything to this. They give you the most strenuous assurances that there isn't, they swear that they wouldn't lie to you about this. They are firm on this. So you go with your sources, whom you trust.
And you get absolutely fucked over.
The consequences of this are that you now no longer trust your sources. And you tell them that. "You made me look like an idiot. That's done, it's over, but the next time you deny a bad rumor about the Jets, I'm not going to believe you."
What you want in that situation is for your sources to tell you something off the record, or on deep background, that basically says "Yes, this is real, we're trying to work things out." It is fair for your source to tell you: "Look, I can't confirm any of this, but between us, don't go to print with a denial." Or something. Then your source as done you a favor by saving you from writing something that he already knows to be false.
In defense of his sources: If someone calls you to confirm or deny a rumor like this, what can you possibly say? You can't confirm it. And if you don't deny it firmly, on the record, you're confirming it. So the only answer they can give is the answer they gave.
I'd like to think that if I were asking the question it would be: Is there anything to this? (No.) If there was, would you tell me? (Honest answer: No.)
No. Manish Mehta is a clown. Jets fans hate him. The players make fun of him. Dont give him even the slightest credit.
This guy is on top of things.
His mother said he was gonna be
The greatest man alive.
This. I do the same thing with literally all of your posts
The cognitive dissonance is strong in you lol
Glazer broke the Beckham thing weeks before anyone else and mostly everyone crapped on him here.
That was before the draft correct? I believe the rumor was the Jets would fire their GM soon after the draft. The timing is an interesting data point.
Ohhh, yeah...
And you get absolutely fucked over.
