NFT: Park & Lock Lots in Manhattan for larger vehicle

steve in ky : 5/16/2019 7:41 pm
I have a family reunion that I may try to make this June. If we go the family will want me to take them into the city a couple of times and I'm going to be driving a Toyota Tundra and it's kind of big for some of the parking lots that I remember mostly using in the past. Some of them were a pretty tight squeeze even with my old Honda I used to drive.

Can anyone recommend a couple of Park and Locks (I want to park and lock it myself) in Manhattan that can better accommodate a large vehicle? Last thing I want is to be stuck half way up a parking lost and not being able to make it in or out.

Thanks in advance

I recommend parking in NJ - Harrison or Jersey City and taking path in to New York. Costs less.

I always use the port authority bus terminal. My Ford Explorer fits pretty easily. Easy in and out through the Lincoln tunnel, with quick access to the subway system.
There's a lot of them in the city

I don't think you'll have a hard time finding one to accommodate a Tundra, just that they're going to hit you up for an oversized vehicle fee (which is basically any car larger than a Mazda Miata at this point).

Your best bet is to use an app like Parkwiz to find something that fits your criteria near where you're going to visit for the time frame in question, and then make a reservation.
