You need to get to their client retention department. They'll extend your promotional contract another year or so. I did this for free HBO for like 10 years.

Yup, tell them AT&T and DirecTV are pushing hard for you and offering you this and that (make it up if you have to). I remembering paying less $40 a month for cable and internet for 2 years doing that once.
Last time I tried Comcast retention department they Â
wouldn't budge. Said they couldn't offer me HBO anymore. Just Showtime/Starz. And that my plan pricing was as low as they could get it, and that was it. I asked if they were willing to lose me as a subscriber over another $10 or so discount, and they basically told me 'do what you have to do.'
So I signed up for Philo. 57 premium channels, $20/mo. No contract. I'm either going to reduce Comcast to the bare minimum plan (including internet) or cut it altogether and go with rabbit ears and a different internet provider. Loving Philo, BTW. Check it out on a free 7-day trial.
Cancel down to internet only and then buy a streaming package like Â
DirecTV now or PlayStation Vue, YoutubeTV or HuluTV. All of them are good. And if you don't like it, Comcast will be immediately offering you discounted deals to come back.
furthermore all those streaming packages can be tried risk free Â
for a week (at least when I tried them that was true).
I initially did this when Comcast ditched YES for a time and I've never gone back. Never will go back to them for TV. They're still the best internet option available to me though.

I did this with Charter. Asked for a $15 discount and they refused. I cancelled. Within a month they were offering me a $60 discount.
Dumped Comcast cable over a year ago. Kept the internet and used PSVue and have switched to DTV Now. Personally I liked PSVue better, but we have a 2nd home up in the mountains and the only internet we can get is an AT&T hotspot and only 20G/month data cap, but you can stream DTVNow data free while using an AT&T hotspot.
I get everything except MASN that I used to watch and I save $100/mo vs what I was paying with comcast.
Then they will start trying to retain you and offer you better deals. If you call asking about reducing your cable package or lowering your rate they won’t do much for you.
I once went through the process and said i was going to cancel Â
and they offered me like 15 bucks off a month and then I said I was going to cancel and they called my bluff. And I was hoping it would be like a used car salesman and stop me as I was cancelling and they never did. I had to call up and get my services turned back on and did the walk of shame.
RE: which streaming services give the nfl redzone? Â
I will say that I had that and it is good. I currently use DirecTVNOW because my son and I love the Knicks and that's the best one in CT that has MSG (fubo had it too).
I had Time Warner Cable, then it became Spectrum. Â
Spectrum is very firm on pricing, they don't do discounts to keep you. So I ended up dropping the cable subscription/boxes. Upgraded Internet speed, got YouTube TV, don't miss the cable service much. Almost never have a problem with the TV service.
Unfortunately YouTube TV just raised prices so my TV cost is still higher than I'd like, especially when you add up Netflix subscription, CBS All-Access, and HBO through Amazon Instant. Maybe we'll drop HBO after Game of Thrones.
