I seriously doubt obj wanted to leave. If he played his cards right, he could have advanced his brand in NY and become King of All Media like Strahan. Now he's stuck in ass Cleveland.

The interview right after getting paid $95 Mill didn’t sound like he loved being a Giant. That becomes a problem for me. I loved his talent and he was entertaining and passionate, but he started making some business decisions on the field and he started giving the coach some shit.

when he first left the Giants to be something more in media. But not anymore. he was a great Giant his last 5 years but thought his future was outside of football. He took his shot and took his lumps for it here and a lot of places. Think he found himself now and turned into very good NFL analyst IMO.
However, anything he says Giants related needs to be taken with a grain of salt for now. They just started letting him back in the building and he isn't going to say anything to jeopardize that. He deserves a place in the ring of honor. His comments on Saquon were definitely genuine though, he knows his franchise records are at the hospice.
I think Odell wanted a different quarterback. I think he was of the same opinion as Reese regarding Eli. Eli was immobile and unable to extend a play long enough for receivers to get downfield. OBJ was always looking for the home run and Eli was unable to deliver. Odell will be happy in Cleveland only to the extent that he will be happy with Mayfield's ability to thrown home run passes. Otherwise Odell is going to hate Cleveland with a passion. He would much rather be in NYC, the west coast, or maybe FL.
