Was I the only one rooting for the horse?
Lost all interest

with the Derby disqualification. I am usually into the those races.
The Preakness lost its luster

The minute a horse that was awarded a win in the Kentucky Derby after not winning and the owners decided not to to run the freakin Preakness.
I was watching in

a bar and the whole place was rooting for the riderless horse. It was hilarious. I think it beat two horses with jockeys in the end.

Same.
Were any of the jockeys of the riderless horses hurt?

War of Will...

was sensational. Now we probably have to re-visit if getting cut off by Max Security in the Derby actually cost him a legit chance to win that race.

Let's hope the connections of Max Security regroup and decide to run in the Belmont. If so, and Casse takes War of Will, then that will shape up to be a tremendous race.
Did anyone happen to catch the video
mattyblue : 5/19/2019 5:32 am : link
that the lawyers for Maximum Security’s team put out? I don’t know a single thing about horse racing but the video really had me convinced that Maximum Security got screwed. Obviously either side can make a video that would probably convince me as I don’t even know what the rules are. Nonetheless I thought it was interesting to watch. The entire Kentucky Derby thing sucked. I know that people bet big money on it and probably lost in a pretty heartbreaking manner because of it. Just seems like a shitty situation.
Sorry here’s the link

like you, I know very little about horse racing. I know the jockey is supposed to stay on the horse, but beyond that...

It does look like WoW gets pushed inside. there's no angle showing contact on alleged strikes 1 and 2. strike 3 looks likely to me, but it looks to me like Max is starting his drift in - he was inside tire track, now he's on it, whereas WoW is done drifting inside and is consistent in tracking. after that, Max definitely drifts wide.

3 experts took their time viewing multiple angles, and came to a conclusion. the headlines said many/most trainers agreed, or at least weren't inclined to call it bad.

WoW's win potentially sets up a Belmont hype: Max looking to prove he's the champ; WoW looking to prove he could have been a triple crown champ if he hadn't been interfered with; Country looking to show he's not a fluke
Thanks Fkap

I do agree about the first 2 strikes. I don’t even know what I am looking at there. If most people that follow horse racing think it’s the correct decision that is good enough for me. Again I don’t know what is or isn’t allowed so I will defer to those more knowledgeable than myself. I just still have a hard time seeing anything that was so overt that they needed to do what they did, but I also am not sure I would know it if I saw it.
Maximum Security is targeting the Haskell

and then the Travers and ultimately the Breeders Cup Classic, depending on how he does in those other races.
I was shocked..
FatMan in Charlotte : 5/20/2019 11:30 am : link
that the Kentucky Derby never had an objection before.

I've seen so many races where there is a change after an inquiry on what looks like something minor that I assumed it had happened before. I wonder if an inquiry ever impacted the Belmont or Preakness?

Yes, the KYD has had objections before, but certainly not like this. See the link.

In my years playing the horses, I’ve never seen in at the Preakness or Belmont.

Real Quiet was going for the triple crown in 1998. But he got nosed out at the wire by Victory Gallop. If RQ would have won I’m certain VG’s team would have launched an objection and won because RQ clearly came out and hit VG down the stretch. But VG just kept grinding and won despite the foul...
