A decade? Go back 30+ years. I did a few years back and began a thread titled, "The Curse of the 3rd Round."
i meant specifically for this team ... as in, it's literally been a decade since a 3rd rounder has been useful to the Giants.
A sad, sobering reality - prior to Hill, '08 Manningham. Crazy.
I did it for the Giants. No other team. Manningham, Tuck, that was about it. Every other 3rd Round pick either was a bust or had a catastrophic, career-ending injury.

Some Giants injury updates after watching practice + listening to Pat Shurmur:
—CB Corey Ballentine was outside standing + watching practice. Will take time to get back on field after getting shot in backside. I asked Shurmur if training camp was reasonable. “Hopefully sooner.”

QB Kyle Lauletta had a “knee cleanup” earlier this offseason. He was at practice but did very little. Should be back soon.
Some other Giants (Dexter Lawrence, Antoine Bethea, Dalvin Tomlinson) not at practice because of travel issues related to weather. #Giants #OTAs

Eli Manning started slowly (threw several passes out of bounds + early INT) but seemed to throw the ball well and w/velocity. Daniel Jones looked like a rookie at times, holding the ball long, but also looked good throwing on a windy afternoon in East Rutherford. #Giants #OTAs

Just checks off everything for bad WR. There's certain innate talents you need to be a good WR, and Slayton has none of it.

Sam Beal says the best part of his endzone tip to Jabril Peppers for the interception was that he went up for it w his right arm. That was the shoulder he had season-ending surgery on last year.
I thought Jabrill Peppers was one of the more impressive players on the field today at #Giants OTAs. Intercepted the ball tipped by Sam Beal, knocked down another, played some high safety and dropped into the slot a little bit as well. Figure that's a clue for how he'll be used.

First practice for the QB vs a live defense is mainly to get back into the swing. And it looked like the D was totally amped up today. Not worried in the least. Now if 2 weeks in they look the same then its a different story.
Also may have missed it but what did Baker do today Â
A decade? Go back 30+ years. I did a few years back and began a thread titled, "The Curse of the 3rd Round."
Did it start when Karl Nelson - an excellent 3rd round pick developing as a too ORT - came down with Hodgkins lymphoma? There really is a dearth of good players from the 3rd round since him, off the top of my head.

Of all the additions this offseason I'm most excited about Zeitler.
He is the best OL we've had here since Snee in his prime.
I would hope so - especially given all the recent additions to the secondary
Now let’s just hope this secondary is more talented than other teams WRs ... I suspect we’ll all be happy with the improved secondary

Its still day 1 of the OTAs. Lets wait a few days before making proclamations.
