The scouting report on todays favorite guy: Sam Beal

superspynyg : 5/20/2019 11:55 am
This is from Walter football but still good. I really like the following:
Great at tracking the ball
willing to tackle and fight tall wrs for the ball.
good height and long arms.

I am not too concerned about him being overly physical at times.

I am predicting that Baker will work in.

I am also in favor of giving Love a lot of time at FS this camp/preason. He can learn a lot from Bethea and be his backup.

Next season season we can add a slot cb in FA or draft (who knows maybe Ballentine will be it) With Beal and Baker at starting cb and Love at FS with Peppers at SS.

It is certainly a promissing start for Beal

Let's see how things go.
His comparison
mittenedman : 5/20/2019 12:08 pm : link
is Darius Slay if everything works out. Scrappy, long and physical with good ball skills.
As I said in the Twitter thread...

I'm just glad he's practicing. Hope his shoulder issues are behind him. Hate to waste a 3rd Round pick, especially one with as much promise as Beal.

Just judging from what I’ve seen so far in an OTA practice, #Giants 1st year CB Sam Beal is gonna be alright

2nd year, actually.
Don't forget Haley

He showed pretty well as a UDFA playing the slot last year.

That's the key.
SY and David Te
giantstock : 5/20/2019 12:34 pm : link
Are not impressed with Beal. I think SY isn't impressed.
What tall WR
cjac : 5/20/2019 12:45 pm : link

Top notch measurables for a big CB too

He is the most physically gifted corner on the roster
I doubt Love will be FS
NephilimGiants : 5/20/2019 1:39 pm : link
His strength is a slot corner, just pick up a legit FS next season

I agree. think Ballantine is more likely at FS.
I think Love
beatrixkiddo : 5/20/2019 2:11 pm : link
can make an great FS. Have him work there and Slot CB. This Defense will work best with flexible DB's being able to shift positions and coverages, I like that Peppers, Love, Jenkins all bring that. Can provide creative coverage schemes to confuse Offenses.

Actually he was a great CF when ND needed him to be. The man is very versatile.

Nothing against either Sy or Dave at all, but does this really matter anymore??? Beal is here; we drafted him. He is in OTA's. Judge the guy by what he does on the field from here on out, not on a college scouting report.

All we have to go on are scouting reports and 1 OTA ... he lasted about 2 seconds on the field last year

I don;t get your reply. Does any post "really matter?" I just brought up they didn;t think he's that good.

He could become all-pro. DOesn't matter what ANYOEN says yes but are you going to say that on every single post that someone including scouts offer an opinion? I hope it's not that you just want to hear positive. It's okay to offer a counter to some that are very positive, right?
