I think passionate does mean a kind of emotional instability though. Eli has no affect. Affect might be the definition of passion.
Acting like an asshole doesn't mean you're passionate, it just means you want the world to think you're passionate. True passion is Mark Bavaro, David Diehl, and the like, but you don't see it on their faces because they're too busy concentrating on winning the game rather than the photo op that comes from acting like an asshole on the sideline or when the ball doesn't come their way. Boo hoo the team is losing, so they have to let everyone know that it upsets them. That doesn't make them passionate.

Good point. I used to believe that smashing bats, throwing helmets and yelling at your QB for the ball was a cool thing when I was younger. Now, I get what you mean.
Bleeding blue type guys that we've been missing. Lunch pail type guys, unheralded but big contributors. We probably haven't had them recently because our late round selections have sucked ass long time.
The last 30 years does not eliminate all 4 Super Bowl teams - - only the first one; it certainly does not eliminate Snee who played in a Super Bowl 8 years ago or O'hara who played in one in 2007.
Can’t believe nobody mentioned him. He was as mean and physical as they come at Guard. Just an all out blood and guts type player. After that I’d go Brandon Jacobs, Jessie Armstead, and obviously Lawrence Taylor although his game was much wilder/reckless abandon in the pre 30 years first half of career. Strahan was nasty too and loved to smash tackles with his bullrush but maybe ran a little hot and cold in the all out passion department even if his ability was off the chart.
Tuck and Hammer. Didn’t matter where they lined up on the line or what assignment, they always came hard and were willing to do the dirty work just as much as rushing the passer.
Guys like Jim Burt, Snee, O'Hara, and Bavaro where among the most passionate players we have ever had.
Ok, sometimes I drink and post. However I don't see why you pick a timeline that eliminates our 1st, and arguably most important SB. Guys like Joe Morris, most of the Suburbanites, the best years of Bavaro, Banks, and LT. These guys were beyond passionate.

but practiced & played on Sunday.Carrying Lott 20 yards was pretty impressive too! Got a chance to talk w/him at a signing(Same priest married us both),what a stand-up guy. And,LT,playing w/one arm vs NO & dominating!Passion personified!

100% agree. And Mark Bavaro should be on the list as well. Very few played with such intensity.
But I think he brought more unrelenting passion to the field than any other Giant I've seen.
