I saw conflicting info on first-team OLBs. One report said Kareem Martin and Markus Golden. Another said Lorenzo Carter. I wouldn't read too much into pecking order until training camp. But those guys are obviously the top three.
The most interesting development here is at outside linebacker with Kareem Martin taking the first snaps over second-year outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter. The second-year linebacker (Carter) is believed to have rotated in. This is a battle we will continue to track, but we believe Carter is very likely to win out in training camp.
Schneier also noted that Martin was taking snaps with the 2nd team, too.
Angus: that is a real concern as most edge rushers favor one side Â
You see him predominantly coming from the left side of the defense(right offensive tackle side).
Xman played primarily in same spot at Old Dominion. This would leave me to believe Martin and Carter we’re taking reps on the right side?
I know Betcher moves players around quite a bit in his fronts but not sure about the edge players. Golden looked pretty locked on the left side in Zona and Vernon looked pretty consistent in side he was coming from last year. Think Carter rushes from both sides, not sure the splits.
There is nothing there. Why the Giants get have hard time moving on from crap players is beyond me. I get don’t read much into it right now, but quit and move forward with the younger guys who have a future.

JPP could play both sides before his accident.
Does anyone know if Golden is better on the right or left? It would be typical of this org if all the edge rushers favored one side of the field.

Maybe he gets reps over the tight end as he might be able to run with them.
He seemed like a gigantic safety last year, if he bulks up lets hope that's still a thing.
Or at ILB even.
