three of the OTAs are open to the media. Today's is not open to the media. Giants.com usually provides a 2-article update by the end of the day. Schmeelk's is usually the one to read.

Source tells me Dexter Lawrence, Dalvin Tomlinson and Antoine Bethea all arrived and participated in #Giants practice today, after weather-related travel delays caused them to miss yesterday. These are voluntary but 100% attendance certainly plays to the ‘culture’ #nyg want.

Here you go. Looks like Eli bounced back. 3 camp standouts 5-21 - ( New Window )
Bounced back in OTAs? Really?
Eh dont take it too literally. Just meaning he played markedly better than yesterday's 1-6 and an INT.
I think that there were mixed messages yesterday. Several of the reports were very positive about Eli's performance. Either way, it's pretty meaningless.

Well, Big Rick seems to think Jones is crushed Eli yesterday at camp and may start week 1. I can't keep track, is Salomone another Eli homer making stuff up to make Eli look good?

QB ELI MANNING: Going on 16 years in the Meadowlands, Manning knows how to navigate the wind. He showed it today. With winds gusting at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center, Manning made some tough completions throughout the morning practice, particularly when targeting wide receiver Sterling Shepard (more on him later). Pat Shurmur, head coach and offensive architect, didn’t shy away from the long ball in the conditions. Manning and Shepard hooked up for two deep touchdowns to bookend the day.
Jones was given a handful of snaps with the second team today during a couple of periods, with Alex Tanney moving to the third spot.

Tight end Evan Engram and safety Jabrill Peppers were lined against each other all day. Peppers will not face a faster or more elusive tight end during the year, making his work against him invaluable. Peppers just missed an interception on the first play of one-on-ones when he undercut Engram on a route towards the sideline. Engram put a wicked double move on Peppers later in one-on-one drills.

Wow you're a fucking moron. Does making things up help you feel better about yourself? When did I say that Jones crushed Eli?
Everybody on here knows Dottino is an Eli homer. It's been stated many times over the last 2 years.
You're right I do think a QB who the Giants chose with the 6th overall pick has a legit shot to start Week 1 if there is an open competition. Especially since he's almost exactly what Shurmur was looking for in a QB.
Again, you miss the fact that there is nothing that can be seen in OTA Â
or pre-season that is meaningful. The only basis of comparison at this point is the experience versus potentiate. And, (work with me here) quarterbacking is a tiny bit more than playing catch on a practice field or diagnosing Pop Warner defenses of tryout guys over a 3 summer weekends. There's a bit of acumen that is required and some of that comes through repetition (experience).
Despite your hopes and dreams (or, more accurately, despite and hatred), the incumbent will stay the incumbent until regular season circumstance force a philosophical change.
As it wold with any and every other team in a similar situation.

Yeah, because players NEVER get beat out during OTAs, training camp and preseason. It's literally never happened right?
So Zog said on another thread that maybe we should start Jones to provide a spark, because we need to start well. So really what's the difference? A handful of practices and a couple walk through with very limited reps.
Should force a change. Eli is 8-23 the last two seasons. He's got 42 TDs and 32 turnovers in those two years. He shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore. It should be an open QB competition.
This isn't 2004. These college guys are much more pro ready then they were back then. Get the growing pains out of the way now. I'd much rather lose with Daniel Jones then lose with Eli's 1.35 TDs and 1.03 TOs a game.

Learning the playbook and developing rapport is key so I'm glad all hands are on deck. Training camp can't start soon enough for me.

Yup. That's my main concern, too. Fear the sticky.
Lets see how Jones did in his progression day 2.

Not too detailed but apparently both Eli and Jones looked pretty good.
OTA #2 - ( New Window )
love this^. hopefully an upgrade. not upset collins is gone, just that we didn't trade him for a 3rd in this year's draft.

for "non contact" that line play looks pretty feisty
