Yeah they did. As it turns out he may have been better off and had a better career if he went to Buffalo and didn't have the stardom and distractions a talent of his caliber receives in NYC. He proved to be unable to handle it well at all.

A Calf injury ended Victor "Salsa" Cruz's career. I will never look at a calf injury as a minor/no biggie again....
Cruz is a bad example though, since he is a perfect example of a player that got injured his rookie year (placed/stashed on IR for a hamstring injury) and they still broke out and contributed.
