NFT: All NBA Teams Announced

TyreeHelmet : 5/23/2019 2:45 pm
First team: Stephen Curry, James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Paul George.

Second team: Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving.

Third team: Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, LeBron James, Rudy Gobert, Kemba Walker.

Not saying its wrong, but its insane that Durant and Leonard are 2nd team, let alone Lebron 3rd team. Shows you how loaded the forward position is.

This makes Kemba eligible for the supermax. If Charlotte wants to, they can pay him 80 million more than another team. I have doubts they offer that and if he truly wants to stay there. However,it's 5 years vs 4 years, but its still 80 million guaranteed difference. Doubt he turns that down if offered but who knows...
Nice to see so many future Knicks!

The talent level in the NBA is unreal
BillT : 5/23/2019 2:50 pm : link
You've got HOFers, in their prime, who can't make the 2nd team.
I'm glad Jokic got it over Embiid
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 5/23/2019 3:34 pm : link
Embiid is probably the better player when he plays because of defense, but Jokic had the better season. Nice to have good Centers again.
Talent level right now is bonkers.
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 5/23/2019 3:43 pm : link
I'd have put Embiid over The Joker, but I'm fine with Jokic getting 1st team.

Kemba now eligible for supermax after making it.
Klay's reaction
TyreeHelmet : 5/23/2019 6:02 pm : link
He deserved a spot. Not one of the all nba guards is even a decent defender. He's a great one- that should count.
Klay - ( New Window )
Talent level is the same as it has always been
Vanzetti : 5/23/2019 7:15 pm : link
Guards are incredibly talented. Small forward as well.

But the centers are weak. Rudy G would not have been even top ten back when Ewing, Hakeem, Shaquille, Robinson, Zo etc were playing. Power forwards almost don’t exist.
How many all-time greats are on the all_NBA team?
Vanzetti : 5/23/2019 7:20 pm : link
Harden
Lebrun
Curry
Durant
Giannis

Kawhi is close. But who else?

Compare that to 25 years ago

Jordan
Pippin
Ewing
Hakeem
David Robinson
Shaquille
Karl Malone

Lebron missed too many games
dep026 : 5/23/2019 7:24 pm : link
To make the team. Plus his team didn’t even make the playoffs. Name recognition alone. Hell, Siakam probably should have made it over him.
Fuck Irving
UConn4523 : 5/23/2019 7:31 pm : link
I’d put Thompson over him easily.

Yes he would be top 10. That’s not even debatable.

And you don’t think Kawhi is an all time great?
Irving had a helluva season on the court
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 5/23/2019 8:29 pm : link
. Drama queen off it, but he had a monster year.

you can't make a definitive statement about the centers today when the best ones haven't even hit their primes yet. Jokic is 24, Embiid is 25, Towns is 23. Gobert is only 26 as well, he can still improve.

Totally agree. I think they should scrap the positions, too. And just go with the 15 best players.

I didn't have a problem with the votes
PaulBlakeTSU : 5/24/2019 2:45 pm : link
I would have put Klay over Kemba because I think Klay is a better overall contributor. I think Jokic/Embiid was a toss-up. I was happy to see PG make the first team given the big names he competes with.
I think there is more talent now than ever before
PaulBlakeTSU : 5/24/2019 2:47 pm : link
It's just the nature of the sport becoming more and more globalized and increasing the talent pool and ability to mine talent drastically. Plus, the nutrition, S&C, and training has gone through the roof.
