Some good news at #NYGiants OTA today, which was closed to media: rookie CB Corey Ballentine took another step forward and participated in position drills with team. He was only on the field for post-practice rookie period on Monday.
Next OTA is Tuesday and it is open to media.
Looks like the wound
section125 : 5/24/2019 7:45 am : link
was not serious or only superficial if he was on the field 4 weeks after the incident.
I wonder how his head is? Cannot be easy to carry on after your best friend was killed a few hours after you were drafted, especially if it was a random act.

Good find

And good catch with the picture.

Question - I didn't see Barkley in any of the pictures - did anyone see him?

Second year in a row one of our CBs had to deal with this. That's amazing odds.

I wonder if Jenkins and Ballentine will form a bond over it. It could be good for them both on and off the field.

Rest isn't hurting anybody!

( I don't know tbh )
I was more concerned with the mental aspect

as opposed to the physical one. What he witnessed could be hard for many to overcome. I think we are all pulling hard for this kid. If he is able to put this horrific event behind him I think he will become a core special teamer with the chance for far more.

Hoping it leads to dedicating his career to that teammate ... guy has a ton of athletic ability
Good for him and good for the team.

My guess is they'll rally around him and give him all the support he needs.
Disappointing to say the least

There still have been no arrests made for the shootings.
Couldn't

be happier.
If this kid ever gets to see the field.

It would be quite a story. wish him well.
Did they catch the guys who shot him?
Jerz44 : 5/24/2019 3:46 pm : link
Dont remember hearing anything about that.
His initials are CB.

Small college DPOY.

What happened to his best friend was beyond senseless, stupid, and disheartening.

Rise above and beyond it young Corey and do your friend's memory proud beyond words!

You already have legions if fans rooting for you.
Pretty sad...

Young man just had the best day of his life followed
by the worst day of his life senseless violence .
Cant help but to root for him to make the squad .
even if it's just special teams . the good thing being
is we will have some serious battles for roster spots
at CB I can't ever remember having this many promising
players .We will actually have solid depth .
Rooting hard for this kid

The mental hill will be his most difficult one to climb.
If you have man type corners and play than the
idiotsavant : 5/25/2019 11:12 am : link
Mental aspect may be more on the safeties and any multi DBs, (love and any slot DB/S swing players and any lb/s swing players) as opposed to on your pure corners.

And (learning play schemes task) being on any front 7 players.

That might be an upside of this system; the players whom you expect the most from- talent wise- (corners) not being also burdened by needing to learn many varied assignments, rather just "learn your WRs tendencies each game" in a 1 on 1 scenario.
Man to man coverage requires much higher CB skills than any zone
Ivan15 : 5/27/2019 4:19 pm : link
coverage. Sure hope this group has them.

It would be great if the coverage is strong enough for the DL to get some pressure and it isnt all just about the blitz.
