It's not much,

but how is the games played LTBE bonus calculated for Remmers? Only 6 games the last two years, and an average of 11 games per season over his career, and 3 full seasons out of 6.

Remmers has played all 16 games three of the last four seasons. The other season he played 11 games. Before that he wasn't viewed as starting material.

i read the years backward.
Jenkins's contract makes it pretty apparent...

...that he's insurance and a camp body.

Remmers is really cheap for a starting tackle. To some extent, it's a one-year "prove-it" deal; but he's a bit old to go that route by choice. The numbers seem to speak directly to his market value and prevailing skepticism about his health and the amount of tread left on him.
Feel a lot more comfortable ...

Having Remmers the thought of Wheeler wasn't a pleasant one
Maybe Wheeler will eventually pan out but having him
start again is suicide ..
I am still a bit dismayed about taking a CB rather than another RT to solidify one more spot on the O-line .

I think it's one of those perfect storms where he presents much greater value to the Giants than he does to other teams. So the Giants are getting a bargain for a vet who may not be a plus player, but he's not a liability either. As stop gap players go, he is a good one at a position of need.
p.s.--I like Wheeler a lot more than most and I like what I've read about Asafo-Adjei (for a 7th rounder), so I feel good about the numbers they are throwing at the right tackle position even if none of them are Kareem McKenzie.
