any chance of me doing anything productive this afternoon.
Man, Hoss was taking some shots
jpkmets : 5/24/2019 3:53 pm : link
you can see the difference that the "no driving the QB to the ground" rule makes. Flags would be all over the Bills D for these hits.
The Mark Ingram 3rd down! The Otis Uppercut!

Hostetler somehow holding onto the ball during that sack!
Why are there no graphics?
JohnG in Albany : 5/24/2019 3:56 pm : link
I'm not seeing score, quarter, time, etc.

That Walls tackle
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 5/24/2019 4:00 pm : link
was so huge.
Hostetler got the shit kicked out of him
kennyd : 5/24/2019 4:05 pm : link
in that game. Got to give him credit. I doubt it would have ended the same with Kavanaugh coming in for him. Dude took a beating
still amazed Hoss didn't

fumble on the safety.

Didn't have them constantly on the screen at that time.

I'm an old fart, so I'm aware of that, but there hasn't been a single graphic (until just now, of course).

Gotcha -- I think they are shaving time by going to the commercials earlier (along with some other stuff). So we aren't getting the score graphics that were up right before the breaks.
Good point, that's probably it

This era played crazy fast, the violence of the game was unattenuated in the 80s, before player safety was taken seriously.
Walls was clipped on that TD
flycatcher : 5/24/2019 5:14 pm : link
I think
Even Norwood's PATs
PEEJ : 5/24/2019 5:15 pm : link
were shaded to the right
I saw a belichick documentary......
thrunthrublue : 5/24/2019 5:17 pm : link
It was his defensive strategy, to make the bills receivers pay dearly for every catch, to make them lose concentration......reed particularly, and they sure executed little bill’s plan!
Rambo!

Another epic drive, Hoss really was great in this game.

To stick with the ground game even when trailing late in the game.
Perry Williams

Maybe our most underrated CB in giants history
Bahr’s Kickoff
Q v2.0 : 5/24/2019 6:48 pm : link
Matt Bahr, the kicker, tackling the returner on the kickoff to prevent a possible touchdown on a strong return, to the start of the game may have been the play that won that game. You never know. 😎

Bavaro was still playing at a championship HOF level in 90. Maybe half the receiving threat but so clutch and still the same dominant blocker. Damn good enough. He should be getting more HOF votes. He virtually dominated the mid to late 80s nfl landscape. Basically 5-6 years of excellence. Was the best and most indispensable offensive player on a two time title winning team. Cmon man. Gimme some damn votes for bavaro!

Of course Terrell Davis has his day in the sun... where’s Bavaro? Not even a whiff? Has he even gotten any votes at all?
Sorry for rant
djm : 5/24/2019 8:22 pm : link
I saw Bavaro getting love and it got me going. The guy somehow has managed to go underrated.

The Giants should have sealed the game with a late TD at the end.
Optimus-NY : 5/25/2019 11:55 am : link
Jeff Wright, the Bills' NT (the guy who took over the position from Fred Smerlas like Erik Howard did from Jim Burt a year earlier for the Giants), made a great play.
That game proves the old adage...
Klaatu : 5/25/2019 12:17 pm : link
The best defense is a good offense.

Belichick's defense gets all the credit for the win, but let's face it, the Bills had the ball for 19 minutes and scored 19 points. It was Ron Erhardt's offense that kept the Bills offense off the field, giving them as few opportunities to score as possible.

Anyone who watched the Giants beat Miami earlier that year - by running the ball down their throats and keeping Dan Marino & Co. on the bench for most of the game - knew how they could beat the Bills.
