I was watching Saquon's season highlights, and I noticed we were back to running middle screens pretty effectively, and I saw a handful of the scattered throughout the clip. It's been a while since we had run them, if at all since Gilbride left. They used to be prominently featured in the Gilbride/Coughlin offense, first with Tiki, then with Bradshaw and Jacobs.
It was a really successful play for us and I'm glad to see it back in the playbook. And yes, Eli can throw the middle screen effectively.
Second play in highlight clip - (

And we should have an OL that can block well for them.
Nope. As an Eli defender I must acknowledge that he’s generally awful

at throwing or setting up screens.

Giants-Cowboys games in the 70s were very frustrating.
First 8 games?
There are guys who ran with more power and elusiveness ... and guys who were probably faster. There are guys who had great agility ... guys who could stop, spin, and start on a dime. There are other guys who had great vision and see holes and lanes that are not even there ... at the time they are running towards that direction.
But, from what I have seen so far - nobody that I ever watched has ever been great in every category. Nobody has ever had the combination of all these gifts/skills like SB.
Over zealous hyperbole from a NY Giants fan? .... maybe.

Did I mention Balance?

My scouting report from last year was dead on.
"Saquon Barkley - RB Penn State
The world's top scienticians from the future bio engineered a RB and sent him back in time to play for the Giants for reasons."
Pretty damn prophetic.
It’s the “coaches fault” apparently.
“Eli’s ageless and I’m sure he’ll improve and play forever.” - 50% BBI

I knew it.... he is related to the terminator. Do you think he shape shifts? Maybe that is why they cannot tackle him? for 2 seconds - he wears the opposing team's uniform?
