Was very confident, for some reason, he would make it. We jumped around, high-fived, had a joyous moment. Pointed a finger to heaven to acknowledge my Dad, patted his Giants sweatshirt which lays in his spot on the couch for every Giants game.
Tynes showed a lot of athletic courage that day. In the 11 season no doubt he’d make it. Guy had the clutch gene
I was a freshman at Quinnipiac, there was a riot in the dorms and it spilled outside, people throwing trash cans, ripping pay phones off the wall, lighting fires.
A real euphoric riot. it was incredible.
The school was mostly students from CT, NY, NJ, RI, and MA so a ton of Giants fans.
The other two, I watched at home, in solitude, and my reaction was more like Steve Weatherford (who owes no one an apology) "mother fucking super bowl"
during the 07 season and the joint yells (including mine) that were so loud you can hear them threw the walls was awesome. 201 (January 2012) we lived in Brownstone Brooklyn by then and had a baby so I pumped my fist mouthed yes, and just remember going into our bedroom and telling my wife (who can care less about this shit other than hearing me complain all that season how frustrating they were) and she said “Really!” then texted my parents, friends. But not screaming to get my building emotions out was tough and an early lesson about fatherhood and having to control emotions for your kids.
FWIW, don’t really remember what I did when Bahr made the field goal other than hugging my dad. But I was vividly remember running down the hallway of our house when Norwood missed and my parents have an upper floor deck and literally screaming at the top of my lungs when he missed. That was amazing!
I went in to the other room and didn’t watch because I didn’t want to jinx it. I heard no noise from them after a few minutes I came out and they calmly said we won. I didn’t believe them then I looked at the screen and everyone celebrating. Then we all went nuts. They purposely held their celebration in so I didn’t know what happened. Jerks. Great night. Didn’t really call anyone. Went home and cracked a six pack and watched all the highlights over and over til about 2am when I fell asleep.
I did however receive a million text messages from people that know how big a fan I am congratulating me as if I had won the game myself. I was very fanatical in my teens and twenty’s. I was 27 that day and at the height of my fanaticism I would say. I had found BBI in March of that year leading into the season. It was kismet. Great night.
in anticipation; my brother, my dad, and our buddy....I knew from the the second it left Tynes foot, in both games, that it was good! I yelled "it's good!!!" and started celebrating ensued! what a time to be a Giants fan
that basically went down to the last play. My son had just been born Dec. 29th, the day we lost to the Pats for them to go 16-0. The Dallas game I had him in my arms and when McQaurters picked off Romo and I screamed Yesssss! I remember him looking up at me eyes wide open thinking "who is this nut holding me?". Well of course since it worked the first time, there he was in my arms when Tynes lined up for the 48 yarder, but he was sleeping so I knew I had to keep it down. Its funny I remember the kick so vividly , as soon as it started taking that left turn I said quietly we're going to the fucking Super Bowl!
I was sitting on that side of Candlestick around the 30-yard-line. I just remember being rain soaked, my throat hoarse from screaming, and Weatherford going nuts.
It wasn't a long kick, but the field and the conditions were abysmal. It was a tough kick, maybe not Green Bay tough, but not easy.
Far and away the most excited live sporting event I've been.
kick. I was a nervous wreck the whole overtime. I was a freshman in college and in my dorm room by myself. When the kick went through, I exploded and immediately felt the urge to open my window and yelled out ‘Superbowl motherfuckers!’ at the top of my lungs. Two of my friends were walking towards the dorm to check what was going on with the game and started running when they heard me. I then went to Taco Bell to ‘celebrate’ and got four Cheesy Gordita Crunchs because they were 99 cents at the time. I remember one of the hard shells stabbed my throat when shallowing and it hurt for a long time.
Was in my dorm room, jumping up and down and hugging my buddy from college (we were both Giants fans). Just before I was yelling at Coughlin for trying such a long FG in those conditions especially after Tynes had missed 2 earlier. Was literally shaking my head as he kicked the ball (in part I was also thinking of the 3 missed field goals by Bryant in the 2005 game against the Seahawks). Glad I turned out to be wrong.
In 2012, Jumping up and down and hugging my wife (who is now my ex-wife). When the Giants won the super bowl 2 weeks later, as Brady's Hail Mary fell to the turf, I fell to my knees and put my arms in the air, looked upward screaming "WHOOOOOO!"

Huge relief against GB.
Yep much better the old way. People who bitched then are definitely regretting it

In the two OT games it was obviously OT, and tied, a miss the game goes on.
So just more tension (for me) in 1991, I was younger, I lived and died a little more with every play.
:)
:)
Uh, that was the payback. Bummer.
