Was unhappy in WWE and thought they were treating him like shit, so said I don't your big money contract, went to the Indys and created an idea that we can do our own thing and prove we don't need them.
It is amazing how things run full circle when one considers his father having a similar attitude about everything.
If they make smarter decisions than WCW did with the big money they have a chance. A big time chance. And with guys like Jim Ross there, I suspect they will make smarter decisions than WCW did.
I have seen some clips from it and from all accounts Â
matches were good but the production and camera work was horrible, got a little better as the show went on but they have a lot of work to do befoe they can put on a decent show week after week..
have some talent but the elite carried the show...
the announcer was awful, very good matches but have some things they need to sharpen up if they want to be seen as more than indie
but they need someone to come in and handle the book who is an outsider, otherwise talent may think they are booking themselves like what happened in wcw, to many voices is not always a good thing..
Guys like Billy Gunn and JR will be huge helping them with tv

If one of the Rhodes' decides to be the booker and doesn't actually participate in-ring, I think it could work
The other possible scenario is if Bret Hart does the booking Â

I think if it was just cody i think he would be great at it, but the bucks and i am sure omega will have a say..
Didn't know about this, just watched the PPV on youtube. Matches were entertaining, crowd was into it, blood spilled and weapons used...if they can achieve that kind of vibe on a consistent basis they'll make it. Curious to see what other talent is going to sign there.

Right now it is hot because it has an indie feel to it, NXT is the same way, it is not main stream so fans love it..
AEW should not try to conpete with WWE, they should compete with NXT...
They have to keep that indi feel when they go to national television

NXT will always be a WWE product and the fans know that. It's WWE's minor league. The advantage AEW is that no one in the WWE has anything to do with it.
It was organic, felt authentic, and presented as real and sport not entertainment. Like what pro wrestling should feel like.
The Dustin Cody match was the height of pro wrestling storytelling for me and maybe the best I’ve seen in a decade or two. Just great stuff. Felt so nastalgic, a throwback.
Lots to like, I love they are letting guys be themselves, and not overly scripting stuff. It’s going to go a long way.
WWE should take notes that when you condition fans to care about the wrestling and don’t consistently tell them it’s not wrestling it’s sports entertainment, the fans react in kind with all higher immersion level and passion for the product.
It's a new wrestling promotion -- All Elite Wrestling.
It's being financed by Tony Khan (son of Jags' owner) and is built around Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley (former Dean Ambrose).
It's bringing a grittier -- and more international flavor (Omega and the Bucks were stars with NJPW).
They will be starting a weekly two-hour show on TNT in October.
Most enjoyable domestic PPV I've watched in years.

Cody even took a sledgehammer to HHH's throne.
