German vs. Duffy
77 degrees and mostly cloudy at first pitch. No threat of rain.
...German pitching.
Yes.
Considering the injuries, that is astonishing.
knock on wood. so far this has been a remarkable rehab and recovery....
knock on more wood.

Aaron Boone said starter James Paxton was able to throw a side, do long toss and fielding drills in Tampa on Sunday. All sounds like it went well. He'll fly to New York tonight, and the Yanks will meet with him tomorrow to figure out whether he can rejoin the rotation Wednesday at home against San Diego.
hear! hear!
Absolutely. He's on Fiyah
Duffy looks good for KC too. Might be a tough nut to crack today.
The throw was way off line. Pitcher should not be rewarded for a bad throw.

he was running in the wrong place for much of the time, that would affect the catcher but Duffy made shitty throw. If he throws it where he needs to its no problem.

exactly.
No, he wasn't. I was going to ask last night why might right field be so much more difficult to play. Or, whether it's just Frazier. But right now, Boone needs to sit him down.
He better step up his play in the outfield because right now it's a liability and I'm not sure his bat is good enough to keep him with the big club once Stanton and Judge get back.
I really can see his glove getting him a ride back to SWB.

show in RF. Half assed the run to get there and drops the ball as it hit him square in the glove. He was not this bad in left field....

He was definitely better in left. Did not say he was good, but I never saw him drop 3 or 4 balls in LF. He looks like a fish out of water in right.

Right field has definitely gotten into his head.
For some reason both those things aren't as severe playing LF. The ball tends to go straighter there.
Yes, seems illogical, but it's true.
But German was due for a bad day.

Oh, and the opposite doesn't happen in LF?

I have no stats to back this up, just experience. When a right hand hitter hits the ball to RF there is a wicked slice on the ball. When leftys pull the ball to RF it tends to hook into the corner.

For whatever reason it doesn't seem as severe. The ball doesn't move as much. Either that or leftys go OPPO way less often.
This is based on my time playing and coaching baseball and not anything else.
