Walker LIttle, OT Stanford

CMicks3110 : 5/26/2019 2:26 pm
has anyone watched this guy play? He looks like an absolute monster at left tackle, great technique, power, agility and a mean streak that really comes out on tape; check out 1:27 on the linked video. He throws the end to the ground like a rag doll. If he's available at the top of round 1 next year, gotta grab this kid.

Giants won’t be picking at the top of next year’s draft

He's a likely top 10 pick next year

Georgia LT Andrew Thomas is rated ahead of him.
All for it

Next year the goal should be to get an elite pass rusher or otackle. The wr class is lit, but I'm not taking Any of them if we have a chance at an elite prospect at those positions.

If a pass rusher is there at the Giants pick it should be the selection if it is BPA or close to it. If it's between and elite WR prospect or an elite OT prospect you have to go with the WR. Daniel Jones needs that long term #1 WR to make his life easier.

I like Sterling Shepard but let's be honest he is not a #1 WR that defensive coordinators lose sleep over. Jerry Jeudy would be a dream scenario as he has been compared to Julio Jones. I doubt the Giants are picking high enough to select him though. Laviska Shenault Jr. is another WR that would look great in blue.

As of today I would be surprised if the Giants 1st round pick next year isn't a ER, OT, WR, or DE. Biadasz

Gettleman has got it.

look like monsters in that video.
It's funny, I do love most of the draft picks they took this year,
barens : 5/26/2019 8:43 pm : link
but going into the draft, they really needed an offensive tackle and a pass rusher. The draft board didn't fall that way, but man, that #6 pick could really have been an impact selection right away.

Well odds are, our pick will be top 10-15 as well so we ought to be in range.
If this team is what I think it is

He very well could be in the conversation when we’re on the clock next spring.

An elite OT wouldn't make Jones's life easier?

I'd rather strengthen the O-Line (and secure it for the future) before I started worrying about skill players.

He absolutely would but as the Giants have said in the past they value the skill positions over the others. They can always get a LT in round 2 or with a trade up. Next year's draft is looking very strong at OT.

You can always get [insert position here] in [insert round here} or with a trade up, can't you?

As for valuing the skill positions over the others, Gettleman did say this after he was hired:

Quote:
“Another philosophy about team building Tom (Coughlin) said it to me when he (first) came in here. He said big men allow you to compete, and that’s really just so true. The O-line and the D-line, I believe in the hog-mollies. We’ve had some great groups here, had great groups everywhere I’ve been and we’re going to get back to that. They do allow you to compete.”
You should ALWAYS strengthen the trenches before any skill positions.
Optimus-NY : 5/27/2019 9:14 pm : link
To not do so is fool hardy. Gettleman won't opt for a WR over an OT if all things are equal. This team has stunk playing Reese and Rozz ball for too lonf. Look where that's gotten the Giants.
I am very high on Jerry Jeudy and I prefer him to Little
Jay on the Island : 5/27/2019 9:40 pm : link
With that said it’s been too long since this team has had a great offensive line. With potentially our new franchise QB in town I am in full support of building up the offensive line. If Little is the BPA I would be very happy with him being the selection.
Next years draft looks loaded at OT
Jay on the Island : 5/27/2019 10:59 pm : link
Andrew Thomas
Walker Little
Trey Adams
Trey Smith
Mekhi Becton
Calvin Throckmorton
And Tristan Wirfs could all go in round 1.
Too early to project IMO

Sounds like a promising draft for O-linemen
I wouldn't be shocked to see another cluster type draft
I had to mute it because of the awful background noise .
Need to add more youth and power having Barkley we
need to build around him a Big TE wouldn't hurt either .
