--It's possible nobody is having a worse minicamp than Ereck Flowers. After getting manhandled by Sweat last week, Flowers, playing at the left tackle position, was picked up and moved around like a piece of unwanted furniture throughout Tuesday's drills. Ryan Anderson will look like a Pro Bowler in the film room when the tape is reviewed. The Redskins, hopefully, are coming up with starting five combinations that don't involve counting on Flowers.
--If I were Trent Williams, and I saw what was happening on the practice field, I'd hold out too. He's an essential piece of this year's team.

He's horrible.
Who was available?
Although our Flowery friend was the 9th overall pick... That entire 1st Rd (2015) was one big colostomy bag.
This made me laugh out loud.
It is amazing how teams think they can coach up a previous bust. They’d be much better off with one more undrafted rookie free agent prospect taking up the roster spot. There’s a better chance once of those guys becomes a backup OL.
He wasn't exactly good, but yeah, that was the only year that he looked like an actual NFL player and we had some hope for him after that outing. He showed toughness too.
Maybe teams got film on him, he never adjusted his terrible technique, and then lost confidence.
Not our problem anymore - and at this rate he won't be Washington's problem for very long either.
Just like we do the Eagles. Guys like Carlos Emmons and Connor Barwin only looked good when they played against the Giants.
Exactly. Toughness in a tough spot. I was convinced after that first season that he would progress in his technique and skills and be worth that pick.
Clearly IT is easier than coaching/managing pro football or I'd be unemployed.
He was way ahead of his college peers on natural attributes. He failed because in the Pros you need to work on technique (which in his case was poor); size is not sufficient.
He had the ability to improve his technique; he just refused to work with his coaches.
Did everyone forget he and Hart sitting away from the rest of the OL so they could talk about how they were under appreciated?
Flowers was the poster child for the attitude DG needed to get rid of.
At least we're in no danger of him learning or improving much from Flowers being across the LOS
I don’t hate him for sucking...some guys just don’t work out, that’s Reese and Ross’s fault.
I hate Flowers for being a punk who quit on the team with his pal Hart and didn’t play the last game in 2017.
He may or may not be. But making Flowers look like crap isn’t really an indication of that status.
It took me a couple of viewings of that clip to comprehend how impossible it is that a professional offensive lineman could do (or not do) what Flowers does in that clip. Even I could have put a hat on a guy. That is disturbing. Flowers looks like he wants to avoid any physical contact at all costs.
don't see the problem, he ran a pretty good route there.
It's not just because he was a bust. People can get over that but it was his complete lack of effort, refusal to listen to coaching, and his confrontational personality that has turned people against him. He has the talent to be an excellent OT but he just refused to listen to Flaherty and Solari who are two well respected OL coaches. He flat out quit on the team at the end of the 2017 season.
This is probably his last chance to stick in the NFL and he obviously hasn't changed his stripes if he is struggling this badly.
That is assuming he makes it to week 1.
He's a big dude who plays football to get paid.
That said, I fear that the other guy in the story, Sweat, is a beast. He was the most explosive player in the draft and had some big games against some solid tackles in college. Really hope we contain him.
- Will Beatty
I can't even fathom 2 worse OTs paired together on the same OL ... sorry Eli, wasted so many of his good years.
Technique and proper hand usage is probably more important inside at guard which are both huge weaknesses for Flowers.
My favorite is how Jerry forgets about his man and let him crush Eli.

Got damn, I really almost just spit out my coffee. Had me lol'ing so hard.

Mike Solari is a great OL coach also and Flowers never improved under him. Solari built two of the best offensive lines of the past 25 years during his time in KC and SF.
