He expressed confidence after Wednesday's minicamp practice that the work he put in while training this offseason, including sessions with pass rush specialist Chuck Smith, will get him plenty closer to his ceiling beginning this summer. “Up front we need an alpha," Carter said, "and I’m looking forward to trying to show I can be that.” Speed. Bend. Knowledge of the game. Technique. Wing span. All the tools are there for Carter to be the answer to the Giants' biggest question on the defensive side of the ball. "Explosiveness and length is a deadly thing," Carter said. Told that sounds like the makings of a pass rusher, he replied with a smile: "A deadly pass rusher." |
...but I'm expecting a big step forward in 2019 for Lo Carter . He did it at Georgia, and he can do it again in the pros. He had a pretty good rookie season and I think he can build on that!
It's a job requirement to do media, and he can't actually do any 'action' until September.
There's a difference between confidence and answering media questions directly and honestly ... and carping. I don't see a thing out of order with the way Carter is conducting himself as a 2nd-year guy looking to step into a big role.
It's tiresome. We'll see what happens when they're doing more than drills in shorts.

I wouldn't say all pro but our edge rushers are average with high ceiling
Exactly, should let them play it out this season. If at least 2 ate solid we fine, if only 1 then we pick onevup next off season. All 3 got potientiel so no reason replacing just yet
The funny thing is the Redskins have a 2nd year player(Ryan Anderson) who played basically 100 snaps last year and didn’t prove anything, and a rookie, not from a small program but a rookie none the less(just as unproven as Dexter Lawrence and DeAndre Baker)...and apparently they have the best front 7 since the 2000 Ravens...
At Baskin Robbins, that's called the Flavor of the Month. Sometimes it truly is great (nutty coconut) and sometimes it sounds a lot better than it is, like May's Chocolate Ribbon Royal Fudge Mousse - which really couldn't touch either the classic Rocky Road or simply chocolate....
Let's hope Carter turns out to be the next Jamocha Almond Fudge, an all time BR great, and not a flavor that''s forgotten yesterday.
He definitely had moments last year where you see he can do things with raw athleticism... But is he dog enough? To be the Alpha? It's the size of the fight in the dog issue.
Quarterback Crunch!
Was he supposed to sack the reporter?

Yeah, we'd do well to remember that of the dozens and dozens of promising young"budding stars" we've been optimistic about over the past 10 years or so, very, very few of them have actually improved from one year to the next.

I agree with this, this time of year it is all about fluff articles about how many superstars we have in the making. Come November when they are playing with pads and in real games the conversation usually (not only with Giants but with most teams) is how many duds we have. Lets just see how it all plays out.
