I saw it late last night. There’s probably some truth there given where Baker and Eli are in their careers, but Beckham didn’t have to go out of his way to say it.
Beckham and Manning made plenty of great plays together, but faced with friction between OBJ and the QB, the organization chose its diminished 38-year-old quarterback over the transcendent Beckham.
I had not read that anywhere else. Recall that in order to have friction, both sides must be prickly. I also never have read before that the reason DG traded Beckham was to take up Eli's side in a fight between the two.
Love your comment,,,They both are immature jerks. obj and the rest of the X Jints really need to shut up and play. They are devastated being tossed off a class organization. Leonard is a bad sports writer has a lot of hate in him.

Never say that before either, which is why I'm asking who's the bigger jerk, Beckham or Leonard?
Nothing wrong with what Beckham said. Not intended as a dig at Eli. Could he have been more careful knowing how it could be spun? I guess, but you cant live your life in constant fear or self-examination over how you'll be construed.
Leonard is the one who inserted Eli into the story. Because Leonard is the Jack McCall of sports writers (sorry, big Deadwood kick lately) and it's easier to generate interest with controversy than with quality. And he will run his cunt mouth.
so why the hell do you read them, to complain? I don’t read them at all because they’re awful. How hard is it to ignore the guys you don’t like or respect?
No it wasn't. You're an idiot if you can't see that. He's obviously implying that Eli doesn't have an arm.
saying Mayfield throws hard in practice is not insulting Eli. Some receivers prefer that QBs take a bit off their fastball in practice situations (see tyree Jackson getting lectured by Steve smith at the combine)
Mayfield vs. Eli, but I think Beckham said it because he really didn't want to be traded to Cleveland, so it's also a dig at the Giants. OBJ would have been more than happy to remain in NY or be traded to CA or FL. But not Cleveland or Detroit, or, you get the point.
RE: You people keep knocking Leonard and Raanan, Â

I dont seek out their work but will take a look if something is posted here, and i imagine thats the case for most. As for this particular piece, love Beckham or hate him, tje trade and both teams following it will be one of the biggest stories of the year. Its interesting.

Sorry Les! Nine out of ten people would not have taken that quote to be so innocent. The guy had an acrimonious departure from the Giants and then proceeds to highlight what a great arm this QB has and he's not used to it. Could it have been an innocent comment? I guess it could have, but not likely knowing what we know about Beckham.

actually if you read the responses in this thread it’s closer to 50%
Beckham has a problem with authority. Giants give him huge contract, and he still does the Little Wayne thing.
He absolutely knows he was traded because if his attitude and immaturity, he is not use to consequences, if course he will not change his ways or show any humility, beginning with not showing up for their OTA s
If Eli found himself on a new team and when questioned by the press makes the comment, "You know it's great to be on a team where the receivers don't go through histrionics on the sidelines multiple times during a game when things don't go their way. They really behave in a very professional manner"
I guess some of you guys wouldn't see that as a dig against Beckham.
When Beckham doesn’t eclipse or even equal the receiving numbers he put up with that sub par QB named Eli Manning now that he’s blessed with the best qb ever out there in hump breath Cleveland.
Beckham spoke honestly, Mayfield has a better arm than Eli does at this time. What's wrong with being honest? He didnt say Eli is washed up, he just said Mayfield has an arm. You can read into that and think Beckham said "Eli sucks", but thats not what he said. He's on a new team, and he's giving his new QB some props, and being honest in doing so. Leonard is doing his job as a trolling reporter. I dont give a shit. The Browns ARE going to be a good football team this season, and we'll see if the Giants can be competitive.
Why would anyone read an article by Pat Leonard, Â

Mayfield's arm has been much better than I anticipated. It looks clearly in the plus category. In fact, I think he had two or three throws last year that were in contention for best throws of the year. So I could see OBJ being a bit caught off guard by the zip. Eli's arm just isn't what it used to be on any consistent basis.
If he stays healthy, and Baker doesn't regress, OBJ will have a monster year.
On the other hand, a not so subtle shot at Eli would be up OBJ's immature alley. He seems to harbor a lot of resentment towards Gettleman, Mara, and Eli.
Pat "The Hack's Hack" Leonard (yet again) attempts to manufacture a controversy out of thin air because he's utterly desperate for attention, but the problem is with "Eli fanboys'" vulnerability to being exploited psychologically?
Some of you people care way too much about feeling like the smartest guy in the room.
This is why some people hate to post on here and why I do it infrequently. What is it about some people that have to attack others personally. Why can't this forum be used to have civil discussion and polite disagreement among Giant fans.
Phrases like, "Eli Persecution Syndrome", "EliFanboy gene mutation" or "Giant fans insecurities.." really enhances dialogue between supposed Giant fans. I guess it makes certain people feel like they're above the rest.
Hey, what do I know. I could be arguing with some kid living in his parents basement.

Maybe it's a tie.
I wonder if anyone keeps statistics. I would bet that complement/compliment are the most misused words in the English language.
But other guys reported the same thing.
WTF!?

But is Beckham transcendent, and have Eli's skills not diminished?

Actually, it's "home in on" (correct) as opposed to "hone in on" (incorrect).

I hear there are some nice boat trips awaiting for them in Lake Eire.
So?
He won’t. Just watch.

Leonard sucks.
Yup it's Leonard taking the shot at Eli, not OBJ. Or at least, Leonard much much more than OBJ taking a swipe at Eli.
Leonard and Lombardo are pushing their anti-Eli agendas to the max.
The one thing that isn't wrong, is OBJ's comments
Hey Ron, go fuck yourself. We should only hope to be as smart as you.
Lesson learned.
