BBKL on Friday 6/7 *interesting

Jolly Blue Giant : 6/10/2019 8:39 am
At 27 min 10 seconds....this is the first time I’ve heard this coming from a Giants media outlet. Make of it what you will, but to me, it’s significant. Also some great stories about how Barkley is maturing as a leader earlier in the podcast.

no easy fast forward option. What was said at the 27 minute mark?

what a shit site that is.
I am not in a position to listen.

Can you summarize?
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal..
Sean : 6/10/2019 8:53 am : link
Just a comment about how Eli hasn’t been as sharp this spring compared to previous years.
I wish I knew how to time stamp it
Jolly Blue Giant : 6/10/2019 9:04 am : link
I intentionally didn’t put a quote in as to not seem like I’m trying to stir things up. I thought it was significant though. John Schmeelk says something like: Eli hasn’t been as sharp this spring as he has been in years past. A lot more passes hitting the ground....you can tell he was hesitant to say it, and Dottino was doing his best to curb the comments.
I listen almost every day

At gym. A few things:

For a billion dollar industry it sure is a pretty lousy podcasts in terms of strength of signal and other technological aspects

Often there is good info from Hosts other than Dottino , his Giants bias just doesn’t allow him to be objective, too many examples to share. But the best one was attack other media who were calling OBJ a distraction while still with the Giants and defending the trade a week later because he was a distraction.

Not a bad listen if you can get past the homerism of some of the hosts and daily callers.
Caught that too... interesting

Although the show far too often involves shouting over callers ... “CHARLIE...CHARLIE...WAIT...CHARLIE”... that is very annoying and almost daily occurrence.

Yes....they don’t seem to be able to mute a caller when they need to.
I think it is absolutely interesting because of who the two hosts
BSIMatt : 6/10/2019 10:18 am : link
were discussing it. If it were Jordan Rannan, or Pat Leonard or some others it might not be as interesting. To hear John Schmeelk bring up Eli not being as sharp as in years past, and full expecting Dottino to disagree with him...and then Dottino surprises him by not disagreeing with him..I think that is significant. Not knocking either guy, but they are definitely two glass half full, looking at the brighter side of the picture Giants guys..and for Schmeelk to raise that point I think is interesting.
Significant

We just had a poster giving asshat info regarding something like "inside the building Giants are concerned Eli's arm strength fell of a cliff". Now two Giants insiders are saying he was not as sharp.

What was also concerning was the statement that DJ’s arm strength is a cut below Collins, Simms, and Eli. Is that prime Eli or right now Eli?
That's

not what Dottino said. He disagreed with Schmeelk.
Dottino spends 1/3 his time
Jan in DC : 6/10/2019 11:33 am : link
slurping on current players, 1/3 his time slurping on past players and 1/3 time talking about why the media that says negative things about this team is wrong.

I enjoy every BBKL that he's not on.

Or conveniently changing his convictions when Giants brass makes a move he was formally opposed to.
It's interesting to see the issue brought up after the rumor we heard

before. We'll get a better idea of whether there's any substance to it in training camp and especially in pre-season. In any case, I'm glad we drafted a quarterback. I hope Jones turns out to be a good one.
Another indication Eli's leash is shrinking.
BlueLou'sBack : 6/10/2019 1:31 pm : link
I really hope he bounces back and glues DJ8 to the bench, it will be best for both IMO.
Dottino

Definitely has Blue colored glasses.

I appreciate their coverage of things like the pre draft process and game reviews.

Jones is coming, sooner rather then later unless Eli pulls something very unexpected and gets off to a clear winning start.

Nothing like game reps, and if you are going to buy yourself another year as GM/coach you have to get the young QB in there. It's literally the only thing, save injuries, which affords a stay of execution.
Not relevant

But I gotta say how awesome it is that the BBKL podcast gets into it without some lengthy and annoying intro and there are virtually no commercials.

I'll take a little extra homerism / toeing the company line in exchange.
