I like David Hale... I think he's carving himself a nice role in this bullpen.
If Hale keeps this up,
section125 : 6/11/2019 4:17 pm : link
it could make Cessa expendable for a trade. I think he still has some value to another bullpen.

Nice win, fellas.

No game yesterday, plus Tanaka/Hale (and Kahnle needing just a few bullets) and an off day tomorrow, I'd assume that the big guns should be available out of the pen tonight.

Would like to see Pax get us through at least 6 anyway.
With Hale I see one flaw.
section125 : 6/11/2019 4:24 pm : link
He seems to get 2 quick strikes then throws a couple waste pitches not near enough to make the hitter flinch. I understand trying to get an out without throwing a strike, but it needs to start out looking like a strike or be a bit enticing and not just something thrown up there.

But good job using only three pitchers(well Kahnle to one batter). Kudos to Tanaka hanging in for 6 2/3s.

See y'all later.

command on the open market?

With Posey getting ~22 per, Sanchez would be well within his rights to ask for 30+ per.

You just can't find catchers with the power he has and the cannon arm - he's a very, very rare commodity right now and his value is through the roof.

Jeez, and to think last year most Yankee fans wanted Sanchez gone...

to step up in game 2, he's got a couple starts under his belt now since returning from the 'IL'. Hopefully they saved a few runs for the next game.

Talking about running off 22 in a row with his past teams, the Mets can barely get 2 in a row, always making excuses for his players, truly clueless!

Just some of the short-sighted ones, who rarely show their faces on Yankees threads these days.

Btw, all hail Jints!

Someone should ask him why they had Davis in LF at
Yankee Stadium, not very smart. Big LF to play for
an inexperienced outfielder.

that Yanks fans say they could "care less" about the Mets, yet will check in on the few game threads that are created to see if there is anyone talking smack.

But hey, I am one of the realistic Mets fans out there who does not throw rose pedals at the feet of shitty owners and lineup that just isn't that good. Don't get me started with Hee Haw and his in game decision making.

Exactly! As a Mets fan, I can't even have a rational conversation with Yankee fans (in person) because they have a complex about how great their franchise is bringing up championships from 90 years ago! At least we know we suck. That is also another reason Red Sox and Mets fans band together when they play and chant in unison "Yankees suck".

very satisfying win, love to see them keep fighting back after going down early. now lets keep the foot on the gas and bury vargas early, if he gets into a groove like his last outing we may be in trouble, they always seem to struggle in spots like this.

Haha. That one is right up there with one I saw a Mets fan post last week saying the Yankees were the luckiest team ever in all of sports history.

I couldn't help but laugh at that one. I mean really? Did they get lucky all 27 times? Lol.

Yup. They were serious too.

It was one I couldn't even reply to as I figured why even bother? It'd be like talking to a wall.
Canon
Jay in Toronto : 6/11/2019 6:27 pm : link
when I was at the Blue Jays game last weeks I was watching guys warming up in the outfield.

One guy was throwing bullets from right field across to left (toward third base). It really looked like being shot out of a canon. I was wondering who that outfielder could be.

It was Sanchez.

I'm a Yankees fan. We've been plenty lucky on top of being good.
Mike from SI : 6/11/2019 6:46 pm : link
Luke Voit is one example. Or how in the late 00s early teens each year we'd have some nobody pitcher have a great year for us seemingly every year. Or the time we salvaged a winning record with a very negative season run differential. Acknowledging the luck doesn't take away from how good the team has been.

Where exactly is the 'luck' involved in there? Voit is a good/solid player. Some times guys come along alittle bit later than most expect. I love Voit. But he's a good player. Not a great one. And anything about this team in the late 2000's/early teens that isn't strictly about 2009? How about all of the times in this entire 2010 decade of postseason play that our lineup went didn't hit. I think luck in this decade is a bit of a stretch. If we had any kind of luck since 2010 we'd at least have had 'lucked' ourselves into at least on championship this decade by now.

looking with Vargas. There is little speed differential between FB and breaking balls. WHy would you be fooled if looking for an 82 mph BB and an 85-87 mph FB...
we should have had at least 3 on him in the first

was 95 high and away on the HR pitch to Alonso. That's one where you tip your cap to the hitter and move along.
