I assume the "W" stands for Women and the "US" for United States but at a loss when it comes to the "NT".
p.s.--I'm gonna guess soccer based on the score.
It is pretty much the equivalent of an american football team beating Germany 127-0. Most other countries barely have any organized woman's sports. The talent pool from Women's soccer comes from like 10 countries tops. Fucking North Korea is ranked 10th in the world.
you have to score as many as possible. You think Sweden and Chile are not going to do the same?
For better or worse, this is the case. Finishing #1 in your group may be based on goal differential and the other teams aren't going to play nice. The order of finishing could make a big difference in how the tournament proceeds in the knockout stages. Sucks but that's how it is.

It should be mandatory for our men’s team to watch the way our women play ... passing the ball, setting each other up ... moving off the ball, etc. Very European ...very effective ...actually fun to watch... The way Klinsmann wanted our guys to play.

I hear you, but the women can not play that way because they can; the competition at the men’s level makes it much harder to hold and pass because the level of athletic ability is uniformly higher and defense attorney s better. We’re spoiled by watching teams like Spain - they make it look easy, but in reality only a fraction of 1% can hold and pass consistently w/out turning it over.
All that being said, screw that tickytacky crap anyway, it’s too boring to watch.

haha, gotta love the insecurity. Soccer is awesome.
To play I agree to watch on tv it’s like od’ing on melatonin
Can’t argue people that don’t like watching it, I get it. I love it on TV, however. It’s a better product than what the NFL spits out with all the between play garbage.
The Europeans know how the game is meant to be played ... Â
South American soccer has deteriorated thru the years and now resembles a diving competition. Asia and Africa are still in catchup but are closing the gap quickly. In the US, it’s a good alternative at the youth level, but will never be mainstream professionally ... the US Men’s National team is hopeless and painful to watch.
...but IMO that is a fucking disgrace to run up the score like that. They should have played keep away once the game got out of hand. To lay 13 goals on a team is not FUCKING nice. That is ugly and unnecessary.

Although I cannot stand the uswnt you have to run up the score. The rules are set up that way.
your foot off the gas. It’s not high school soccer. Goal differential matters in the standings. More importantly, the analysts said it’s considered more disrespectful to your opponent to stop playing all out in a WC match.
I was feeling like they should call off the dogs, but I’ll defer to the analysts and their take.

Out of curiosity why can't you stand them?
I get not caring about them, but what makes them unlikable to you?
For the WC. I remembered 4 years ago enjoying watching Julie Johnston play on the back line. Was looking for her today and was surprised she wasn't on the squad till I looked her up and realized she married Zach Ertz and is Julie Ertz now. Guess you have to take thst possibility into account with the women...

Yeah that was my initial thought too but this is the ultimate for these women. If someone scored or setup their first WC goal, I understand them wanting to celebrate that.
Don't know who scored all the goals or what order they were scored in as far as if someone got their first goal early or later on. Hopefully if wasn't their top scorers doing the scoring and big celebrating late.
Sending a message and the message is this, we came to win!
I was wondering if any soccer fans (which apparently excludes most of BBI) could answer this question: are the ten greatest American soccer players in the history of US soccer all women? Obviously not asking if a male player could beat a female player, but clearly if you look at the greatest female soccer players ever there’s plenty to pick from and most would be American (I think). But for the men, has the US even produced a great male player?
Anyway, good job USWNT!
the US has produced some world class male players - Â
Tab Ramos, Claudio Reyna, Landon Donovan, also GKs like Brad Friedel and Tim Howard who were longstanding stars in the EPL. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting right now. Now, if you were going to say top 10 in the history of the sport on the male side, probably not. Whereas the women would have maybe half of the top 10 in the history of the sport on the female side.
I didn't see today's game in real time as I was out of town but on the plane ride back I caught the last 20 minutes where it went from 7-0 (a rout but manageable) to 13-0. Frankly, the Thai defenders and their GK, who is not good to begin with, just packed it in and stopped playing seriously with 20 minutes to go. I don't blame the US players for scoring - they took what they were given and goal differential is not to be overlooked in group play. That said, I agree that the celebrations on the later goals were more than what I might have expected.
p.s.--I'm gonna guess soccer based on the score.

Ah fck it, spell check ruined the post, nvm
I agree, I love watching them play.
It's almost like watching a video game

Funny. My dad who played competitive soccer in Europe before emigrating couldn't believe baseball was considered a sport.
"Just some guys standing around" he would say.

I’d prefer not discuss as it will get political.
Yeah, it just kinda ... oozes.

That's only because you have no idea what is going on and are too close minded to learn it.
Come on.
Soccer is awesome.

Sigh. Time to grow up.
Good for USWNT. I'm rooting for 'em.

As far as the celebrations go, I've never been annoyed / angered by any celibrbration ever, whether it's OBJ, TO or the USWNT.
