I don’t know the player but if he’s a tremendous blocking TE, I don’t get how the Giants never really got even a very good blocking TE in the past few years much less tremendous. And I’m probably overstating Ellison as a blocker by calling him good. If you have a bad OL for the number of years the Giants have had bad OLs, how do you not upgrade the blocking by picking up somebody really good if the price for a young guy is this low
Unicorn took a more circuitous route to get there.
I still remember the threads saying that Belicheck stole Ballard and how it was an amazing gamble.
In general can't knock Reese, he didn't hang onto old or marginal talent, but man we could have used Black Unicorn, Reese basically calculated we had so much talent we needed to not "waste" cap space.

When Ellison was signed he was known as an excellent blocking TE. He has been a bit of a disappointment in that regard. Hopefully the presence of Conrad on the roster will light a fire under him.
I wish we could bring in another Dan Campbell type of TE as a compliment to Engram. We all saw the impact Campbell had on Shockey and the OL in 2002.

Because the same GM picking poor O Linemen was picking the TEs.
Bear Pascoe and Jake Ballard wave from the Pantheon at Foxboro....
