Congrats Toronto!

Kawhi is amazing. They had a fantastic season, great playoffs, and had some solid contributions from the 2ndary players. Also tons of credit for the Kawhi trade no doubt

how any of it is on Curry when he was playing 1 on 5 offensively after Klay got hurt. They were playing a fucking box and 1 on him and when they werent were running 3 guys at him whenever he touched the ball.

This is a tainted title. Fuck those assholes up north. Cheering Durant going down. Then they get rewarded with Klay going down.

You're a tough guy to agree with

Very happy for the Raptors franchise and the numbskulls who want to live in Toronto. Hope they continue to challenge for years to come.

Why? Injures are part of the game. Warriors beat the Cavs the first time when Kyrie and Love got injured. Is that title tainted?

Curry had some wide open looks in the 4th when they went back to man. They played man for the majority of the 4th.

I am doing whatever I can to resign butler and Harris. They were that close to beating the nba champions and those guys only played like 40 games together. If they can add a few bench players they have to be a top 3 favorite going into next year.

Were it not for how their fans cheered Durant's injury in a way I've never seen an injury cheered before. They became Eagle fan-esque at that moment, but at least their team didn't win the title on their home floor.

All in all though, it wasn't meant to be for the Warriors. Just too much to overcome once Klay went down, especially since Curry is such a loser who can't even persevere in spite of it.

and Delladova. Cousins made plays that live up to his talent. Draymond had a triple double. Iguadala hit some shots. Livingston hit some shots. Siakam and VanVleet just came up big. For 2 young role players on the road in their first championship that's pretty impressive. Ibaka hit some shots when it mattered too for once. The Raps gave GS some chances to win this one, Draymond missed a wide open 3 and Curry missed a couple makable shots. Believe he only had 4 points in that entire 4Q. If Lebron ever did that in a close deciding game nobody would ever talk about anything else.
Congrats to the Raptors

Hell of a win. Kawhi was legendary this run, put his name up there with the greats with this run. Carrying them past Philly, helping neutralize the Greek Freak and owning the Bucks series, and capping it off vs. the dynasty of the era.

Props to Masai too, this is a man who gained job security for decades barring off court BS. What a great FO person.

Sucks that Klay got hurt. He was the best player for the last 7 quarters of the series before he injured himself on an open fast break.

Curry is now officially someone who isn’t the most clutch and will have his haters rip him strongly here on out until he wins a Finals MVP.

Great NBA season, sucks injuries ruined it at the end but Toronto was worthy and I’m ready for the next.
1st NBA game was NY Knicks at Toronto
JohnF : 6/14/2019 12:09 am : link

NBA.com: The First Game

1946: Knicks beat the Toronto Raptors 68-66 at the Maple Leaf Garden, in front of 7,090. Great quote from the article:

Picture the scene that cold autumn night when the Knicks had to stop for customs and immigration inspection at the Canadian border. The story goes that the customs inspector, noting the physiques of Knick players like Ozzie Schectman, Ralph Kaplowitz, Hertzberg, Nat Militzok and Tommy Byrnes, asked, "What are you?"

"We're the New York Knicks," said Cohalan, who did the talking for the team.

From the inspector's reaction, it was evident that he had never heard of the Knicks and probably not even of pro basketball. The notion was strengthened when he added: "We're familiar with the New York Rangers. Are you anything like that?"

Deflated but unyeilding, Cohalan replied, "They play hockey, we play basketball."

Before letting them through, the inspector added: "I don't imagine you'll find many people up this way who'll understand your game--or have an interest in it."

I think Curry has certainly had moments where he's struggled but it's silly to call him a loser.

I'm not a fan of a lot of today's style of play, but Curry has revolutionized and changed the game with his shooting. And that can't be underplayed.

I need Curry to be better.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 6/14/2019 12:32 am : link
It's not because they didn't win or because of him not having any Finals MVPs. With the exception of 1 game, he didn't live up to the reputation and status that's been given to him. In 3 Finals without Durant, he simply hasn't been able to elevate his game consistently. He always looks worn out and plays poor defense to boot.

Klay Thompson, OTOH, his numbers in this series were insane. He shot 54/59/88 in the series.

Congrats to the Raps, although this is very much like the Warriors win versus LeBron and the former Knicks (no Kyrie or Love). Good thing is no one will remember or care in the future. They'll just see the banner. MAJOR PROPS TO MASAI UJIRI for the Kawhi trade.

than was needed if Golden State wanted to win. He was facing a great defense that made it their goal to stop him and let the other Warriors beat them.

But so many people still downplay his effect on the game. All game when he would come off of pin downs or fly around screens, he would drag two Raptors with him. Like in 2015 series, he allowed the rest of his team to play 4 on 3 in many instances and it's up to the other Warriors to take advantage of such a great situation.

This Raptors team was incredibly balanced, had great front court defense and size with Gasol, Siakam, Ibaka, and Kawhi, and had the length with Kawhi, Siakam, and Danny Green to attack the perimeter.

On the other side of the floor, the Warriors were without Durant and then Klay in crunch time, had Kevon Looney playing with a fracture in his rib, and DeMarcus Cousins who is a shell of himself right now after the torn achilles and torn quad.

At the end of the day, the Raptors were lopsided favorites against this Warriors team similar to the Warriors against the Cavs when Love and Kyrie went down.

1-5 in the 4th when it was finally just him. Yes his impact is always there but you still need to get it done and he failed hard when it was time to be that guy.

This Raptors team was incredibly balanced, had great front court defense and size with Gasol, Siakam, Ibaka, and Kawhi, and had the length with Kawhi, Siakam, and Danny Green to attack the perimeter.

No they weren’t. I was literally one of like 3 out of 15 who chose the Raptors in this series going in on the BBI thread. For a reason. They really should’ve lost to Philly if Kawhi wasn’t such a monster. They were ready to lose to the Bucks if Kawhi wasn’t such a monster. They are a great team and this was far from just Kawhi, but the Warriors still had the two out of the 3 most respected players in the series in Curry/Dray.

Curry is aiming at Top 10 status. He’s the closest thing to a guard version of Larry Bird there’s ever been, and maybe even more due to the way 3s are shot today.

Even without Durant, they earned favorite status.

Yet when it counted he failed. This is an unfortunate blemish on his resume but you’re crazy/dumb/blind if you don’t admit it. LeBron or hell even Dwight Howard in 2010 wishes they had Dray/Iggy as their next two best players in a Finals. Curry failed.
There will be no 3peat!!!

equivalent of a mini all star team?

Even without KD and KT - GS is still a top 5-6 team in this league.

Other then Kwahi, who does Toronto have?

Tough to feel bad for the mini dream team.

Look at the play when Curry trips up on his own feet, similar play in the 3rd quarter Kyle Lowry, no call.

Ref's did everything they could to bring on a game 7, not to be!

Great win Toronto, great series!

Jordan Bell and Alonzo McKinnie. 2 players I said sucked.

You’re obsession with me is borderline insane. You have two different posting styles.

1. Crying GS never gets any calls.

2.Taking an innocuous comment I make (curry not playing well, Jordan Bell can’t defend...etc) and taking it to the most extreme. I rarely respond to you for how fucking ridiculous you take things cause you’re a god damn baby. Curry stunk tonight. I only called him an all time great all series but said he didn’t come through. But you go and say he should be cut, I said he sucked all series, blah blah blah. It’s really sad and you do this consistently. Grow up.

You care wayyyyyyyy too much about what I post. Like I said borderline insane.
