I don't think we'll do well at the plate against Giolito. He's been tough on everyone so far. Sabathia will give us no more than five. Hicks will get a hit. Maybe two.
Nats will need to eat a lot of money for that to happen. If we are serious about this season, we need Sevy to be our ace and we'll need another top of the rotation starter. I don't mind that Cashman wanted to wait to see if someone from the current club would step up but it seems clear by now that isn't going to happen.
Now, we need about 3. But hey, at least we have JA Happ. Wonderful signing right there. Ditto for CC. What a rotation Cashman put together here. A true work of art, I must say.

To be fair, look at who was available as a free-agent? There is no more difficult position to fill than the top of the rotation. Corbin has been uneven for the Nats and we have no idea whether Keuchel will be better than Happ. My cheese is with the damn Pirates who took a lesser package for Cole. That was the one that got away in my view.
We have 7 starting caliber SPs on the payroll. We can tare up the floorboards to sew up the hole in the deck, but we'll sink ourselves. The temporary pain of this losing was bound to happen with the amount of injuries we've had. You can't expect them to win every game. You don't shop hungry. I trust Cashman knows that.
Keep thinking they still have good striating pitching. You must be the only person on this planet that thinks they do. The Yankees have now played 68 games and their starters have pitched six innings in 25 of them and have provided 21 quality starts. That’s not good,

No one is expecting them to win every game, though. Beating the likes of the White Sox, Mets (yeah, we beat them once), and the Indians isn't expecting much. Even with the ridiculous pace we were on, losing to some of these teams is going to cost us just like it did last season with not winning the division and having to play that lame wild-card game. Please don't try to tell me this is some great rotation. It's literally not even close. The corpses of CC Sabathia and JA Happ aren't getting this team anywhere.
Instead of investing in strengthening the starting pitching Cash assembled the strongest relief corps ever to take over much more of the burden of winning. There just hasn't been enough of them pitching well to accomplish something close to that.

If it means giving up less, hell, take on the money. They need an Ace now. If Severino comes back healthy and in first half 2018 form, great. But, they can’t sit and hope that happens.
I’m probably just frustrated about their recent play But if they’re going to add to the rotation, I just hope they don’t get fucking cute. Get the big arm.
I don't think it's just that it's the last few weeks. I think it's getting exposed now that we're playing teams not the Orioles and Royals
Might be way too much to fix. And speaking of fixing, how come the Yankees couldn't turn Giolito into a pitcher when we had him?

We never had him. But i know who you're confusing him with. Can't recall his name. Traded last year
No, still can't recall.
He is excellent but i've noticed that much like Didi, he whiffs on too many easy plays.

And holy shit doesn’t CC look done...
No, still can't recall.
Dillon Tate is who you're thinking of

Throw the farm at the Nats for Scherzer.

He is much more a number 3.

Whenever he shows up it's like the Yankees resigning the game.
