NFT: Some Vegas books see Lakers as '19-20 favorites

To win it all!

The NBA Finals had a wild impact on next year's championship odds, leaving the Los Angeles Lakers as the favorites at some sportsbooks and the injury-riddled Golden State Warriors as second-tier contenders.

The Lakers, at +400, are -- despite their absence from the 2018-19 playoffs -- the favorites to win the 2019-20 NBA championship at Caesars sportsbook, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers, who are each at +600. The Toronto Raptors, who took down the Warriors in Game 6 on Thursday to clinch the NBA Finals, are +800.

in LA. After the clippers get kawhi, which is likely from everything kawhi is throwing out there.
I have a sick feeling AD is going

to end up in the purple & gold. God, I hope I'm wrong.
Man, I really hope the Celtics trade for Davis

It'll screw Lebron and company over for a year, even though he's probably going there next year. But Lebron will be a year older and will they really be able to put out a title contender this upcoming season while trying to save space for Davis next year? I doubt it.
What does Vegas know that we don't?

They've got LBJ, we all get that, but the organization is in turmoil, the team isn't cohesive, and the Pelicans SWEAR they're not trading AD to the Lakers. It's one thing to say the Warriors will be down. It's another to say they're going to vault past all seven other playoff teams in the West from this past season.

You nailed it. The chemistry on the Lakers now is awful. Will adding AD change all that? Jump 10 teams? Strange.
Just noticed this a couple hours ago

Lakers 4/1, people think AD is a sure thing. There is no obvious favorite right now. Maybe Milwaukee takes the next step? Toronto, Houston, LA, Boston are all unknowns. Philly relatively stable.

Frankly I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Golden State is a fringe playoff team next year unless something unexpected happens. I suspect they bring back Klay and KD and that is not a super competitive team with $70 mil or whatever sitting out the season.
