My favorite on this list is Tom Dempsey, the Saints' club footed kicker. I was stationed in the AF (at Biloxi Miss) in 1970. I remember how excited the Saints fans were when he set the field goal distance record.
Being originally from Texas, I have to a tip my hat to a man who is still a legend down there - John David Crow face disfigured by a birth accident (he was a bull of a man, with a terrifying scowl). He still went on to win the Heisman Trophy and 4x Pro Bowl.
But, the most amazing, in my opinion, was Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch, who used his birth defect (in his hip) to his full advantage ...

I grew up with a guy (three years younger than me) who walked with a severe limp - Disability/Abnormality ??
Anyway, my family moved away and I didn't see him for while, by this time, I was a high school senior and he was a Jr. High 9th grader. After track practice, I stayed over to see the Jr.High City meet because I saw he was on one of the teams.
His name was - Ray-Seal, he still had the limp, but once the starting gun sounded, Ray-Seal blew away the competition, limp-and-all.
